Songbird Remote not working
songbird remote is not working for me. I'm using the latest version of songbird and I have the extension installed as well as the app on my 3G iphone. On occasion the app will pick up on the name of the computer and i can even select it from the screen that says "Pick which Songbird to control" but on the rare occasion that happens it loads and loads and loads but nothing ever happens. Most of the time it never even shows up. I've uninstalled & reinstalled the app several times and tried changing the order in which i open songbird and the application. Nothing helps. Any suggestions? This is mad disappointing.

Inappropriate?Can you please specify what configuration you are running?
Macintosh, Windows, Ubuntu? If so, what version of each? Native, or Ubutu installed under windows (Wubi)?
Have you tried restarting the iPhone App?
Have you tried restarting Songbird? Restarting Songbird we know is an unreasonable expectation for a user to have to do, but knowing if this fixes the problem will help us address where the problem is.

Inappropriate?I'm running windows XP and I've already stated I've opened and closed songbird (making sure the songbird.exe is not running in the task manager as well as using the restart from the songbird's menu). Yes I've tried restarting the app I've already stated this as I said I've changed the order which I open songbird and the app. I've also already tried installing and uninstalling the app and restarting my iphone. nothing works thus far.

Inappropriate?Do you have the windows XP firewall on?
Can you turn off the firewall for your XP machine, and see if that solves your issue?
or if you can, turn it off for just Songbird application? -

Email your iPhone identifier use iTunes, click on serial # to get 40 digit hex identifier string displayed (copy command works, you don't have to type it).
Copy and past into email to sBirdRemoteBeta24 at 779Media dot com
Also please email your songbird environment information as well (Operating System and bit size (32 or 64) )

Inappropriate?Here the remote isn't working as well.
I am running a Fedora core 11 32bit with Songbird 1.2.0, Build 1146 (20090616030029) together with my iphone 3G on OS 3.0.1 and Songbird Remote Free 1.2.1 and the Songbird remote 1.2.8 Addon.
Now actually I have the addon installed and now I am trying to connect, whicht actually doesn't work at all.
Here is what I tried up to now:
restart iPhone
restart Songbird (twice or so)
stopped iptables
added port 10666 to iptables
stopped & started music
tried to find something that makes sense in selinux manager but didn't found anything
looked at the NAT settings of the AP although that doesn't make sense.
Well, thats it right now.
Actually I am still thinking of something together with iptables or damn selinux which for me is a pain in the ...nevermind.
