Can we improve Voice Quality?

Is there a way to improve the bitrate of the audio recording? I want to purchase this software because the idea of it is great. My friend sends me Veemails regularly and the quality on them is pretty low. All of the S sounds he makes are really bad... the software makes it sound like he has a very bad lisp. I use the built in voice recorder and share my recordings with people via email and the quality is very good. That is a hassle though, as it is a manual process. Any ideas??
