Never stops analyzing contacts version 1.5.1
I downloaded and installed the new 2.1 compatible version (1.5.1) of AdelaVoice but it never gets beyond analyzing my contacts. I never get beyond the "one moment please" screen. Help.

First, let me apologize to everyone who experienciing this problem. As it turns out, there was a bug (technical term for "our mistake") in the voice dialer that affects users that sync their contacts to Microsoft exchange (and perhaps other sync sources such as Apple's Mobile Me). The bug causes the "analyzing contacts" screen to persist in perpetuity. It has been fixed and the new version has been uploaded to the Apple App Store.
Our technical staff would like to extend its appreciation to NA9D and others who graciously offered their time to help us diagnose this problem and fix it.
Although the new version of the Voice Dialer which fixes this problem has already been sent to Apple, it generally takes six to twelve business days before Apple makes the new software available to iPhone customers through the App Store. The new version will be free to all users that already have the product. I will post back to this thread when Apple has made the new software available.
AdelaVoice would again like to apologize for the inconvenience and thank you all for your patience.

Inappropriate?Hummm... I see that three people are experiencing this problem. If any of you would like to help us analyze this issue, could you please send email to support@adelavoice.com and reference "Chris". We can provide you with a custom version of the application to install on your phone that will display more information as to what is going on. (Requires a willingness to spend about 1/2 hour with us on the phone). It would be really helpful to us and others.

I just sent you an e-mail. I am willing to help. -
I sent email and willing to help too -
Inappropriate?I'm working with Adela this afternoon and it looks like we figured out the problem. Those who have the problem - are you synchronizing your contacts with just Exchange? I am and the exchange contact data is slightly different from the normal Mac address book. They are working on a fix as we speak.
I’m happy
-
I am using both Exchange Server and MobileMe -
Inappropriate? It's probably Exchange. What happens is that with Exchange e-mail addresses are not demarcated as "home", "work", etc. It's just "e-mail." The developers did not realize this and didn't account for it. That was causing things to hang.

How would I get the "fix"? -
Inappropriate?Well, I can't speak for Adela. Try contacting them at the address given above. But I am sure the fix will probably be put into the App store pipeline pretty quickly. It will obviously need to be approved by Steve & Co. first but hopefully this will be out in a few days.

Inappropriate?good news. Apple just approved the new version of Voice Dialer. It should now work properly with your exchange-sync'ed contacts. Please let us know if you still have any problems.
