Error message when trying to open PDF documents in browser. (Adobe Reader 9)
Hi Adobe team,
I do have a problem with the new Adobe Reader 9 version.
The following screenshot pops up, everytime I try to open a PDF document:
Source file: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/16751/adob...
I'm not quite sure, if the problem is caused by the Adobe Reader or my recent installation of Nuance PDF Professional 5. I use Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP 3 (32bit).
It could also be an issue with the Adobe Reader Plugin in both Firefox 3 and Flock v.1.2.3. Additionally it could be a problem with the "PDF Download" extension (v.1.0.1.2) I use in both browsers. The problem happens both with the "Use PDF Plugin" and the "Use this viewer" (Adobe Reader 9) option. But I doubt its a browser problem, as this error also shows up in Opera and I can't open any PDF in IE7 too, although there is no error message showing up.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Kind regards.

Inappropriate?Hello there?? 8 Employees and no one answering?
The problem still persists. I reinstalled / repaired Adobe Reader 9 and my Mozilla Firefox Nitro "PDF Download" extension is now updated to v.2.0.0.0. I also tried to delete the Adobe PDF browser plugin *.dll's and so on, but this didn't help either.
(The standard viewer of Adobe PDFs is (now) definitely Adobe Reader 9!)
What else can I do?
I’m frustrated

Try the following
Close FireFox
Copy nppdf32.dll from the adobe reader dir (with default install, It should be found here: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\Browser)
Paste it in your plug-ins dir, overwriting the one that is there (with default install, the plug-in dir is here: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins
restart Firefox and try it out -
Inappropriate?Solution doesn't work for Adobe 9. I tried in both Mozilla Firefox and IE7 to no avail. Please Help!

Inappropriate?Hi Phillip
Do you still have this problem with Adobe 9 and downloading pdfs? I did but found a very simple and easy fix which has worked for me. I use IE8. In the Adobe menus choose Edit>Preferences>Internet and de-select (remove x)the box marked "Display pdf in browser". I did this in both programmes I have and it worked and I am now able to download pdfs straight without having to right click and "save target as" which I found very frustrating. It means that my pdfs open on the screen...as they did before I upgraded to 9.
I hope that you had it re-solved before however this may help some other frustrated soul.
