Why can't I watch flash videos in full screen on one monitor while working on the other?

As soon as you give focus to another application, full screen mode is exited. Dual (or more) monitors are very common now and I've found many posts in forums for people asking this same question. Other apps such as Quicktime and VLC have this feature, but most videos online are in flash.
