import from spurl xbel
spurl is fantastic (you should steal their features), but they are unreliable. please import their xml export, which is called an xbel file.

Inappropriate?Hi johnywhy,
thanks for the example. I have 2 questions:
1. Is the xml file file publicly available on the web or do the user always download it (in this way we know if we have to provide users a input text where they enter the URL of the feed, or an upload field where they upload the file)
2. Actually, what would you like to see, after importing the file? A list of folder with bookmarks (to check / uncheck) that, if saved, will create the same structure mapping the folders into sets (ie: Folder A with 10 elements and Folder B with 20 elements will become Set A with 10 elements and Set B with 20 elements)?
Thanks,
Enrico Foschi
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?the user downloads it from spurl, after logging into spurl.
you could get it from spur, with the user's spurl username and password.
OR, ask user to upload the file to you.
i don't need a per-folder checkbox-- i know i want to upload the whole thing.
my spurls include sub-folders. can you convert sub-folders into subsets?
is "set" the right target for a folder? what other kinds of groupings do you offer, besides sets?
thanks!

Inappropriate?Hi johnywhy,
currently Agglom support sets (list of links / resources) and groups (aggregation of sets), but doesn't support sub-sets. What we could do, is to import the bookmarks into sets and, if there is a folder that contains subfolders, then create a set that contains as bookmarks those sets..... how would you feel about that? -
I'll have to think about that. but, my first thought is that i am looking for a bookmarking service which supports the equivalent of folders, sub-folders, sub-sub-folders, and so-on, without limit. -
Inappropriate? How about having custom tagging as a way to have pseudo-folders?
So a single tag could take the form of...
Category>Sub-Category>Sub-Sub-Category.
