Mission IDs must be retrievable by the person who plays the mission until they are confirmed
I am made a mistake because I am dumb, but I want Akoha to help because the people who work there are smart. So I have been happily playing Akoha missions. Some have been confirmed, some not. I assumed that some people were simply not interested.
So I received a mission today via email. I had no physical card, a PDF, or an email note with the code for the mission. I went to confirm and I was told to enter my code. Yes, I guess I am that dumb. I assumed if I was getting the mission right in my inbox and being told to confirm my mission by hitting a link, I wouldn't need one.
Now here is where it gets a bit more interesting. I realize as a person SENDING a mission to another player, you do not have the code listed in your played missions, even if they have not yet been confirmed.
Now I often remember to give people a PDF, card or write down a code, but I do often forget. I don't worry about it, because I assume person will be able to confirm if they get an email. Also what happens if a person misplaces a card or has an apartment like mine where things are messy and get lost easily? Shouldn't I be able to say, "Hey X, I can't find my code, can you tell me what is is again?" and X be able to find the code in his or her list of unconfirmed missions, and tell me what it is?
At the very least, writing the code in the email that gets sent out would be extremely useful.

Inappropriate?Hi Tamu,
I just want to let you know that I'm looking into this. I'll let you know shortly what I've come up with.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?I know this particular question/problem was expressed several months ago, but mine is similar enough to not warrant a new thread on the topic.
I attempted to involve the "Give Someone a Book" mission via mail. Unfortunately, the USPS lost that parcel. It has been lost for the last two months. I have no hope of this parcel ever making it to anywhere (let alone its original destination).
Worse yet, I failed to write down the Mission ID for my "retrieval" or review. What this means, for me, is that it is if I never had the card in the first place.
Two things I would like to see implemented/happen:
1) The ability to "Cancel" a Mission in a way that instantiates an issuing of a new Mission ID # with that Mission-type attached and preventing the old card from being catalogued (or along that vein).
2) You are sent the ID to make another go (this idea being very susceptible to abuse).
I'd prefer that this card would eventually come back to me, but with the likelihood being no one will ever see it again, to cancel it out would be very helpful. Especially so if I could get a replacement card in the process.
I’m an expressionless emoticon

Inappropriate?Hello Dr. Barnabus Peddingferd,
The reason why we don't make played mission ID's visible is to avoid confusion and as you mention possible abuse of ID codes.
In your case, your card along with your book are drifting along somewhere in the world and unfortunately not where you had anticipated. This i believe is the risk one takes when postal systems are part of the game. We cross our fingers and hope our gifts make it! :)
If the card eventually makes it to it's destination, canceling that mission would force you to have to send another card with a new ID. If the card makes it into the hands of someone unexpected, we hope that our users would still consider it as part of the journey of the card (though unintended).
For a replacement card, all you will have to do is go to Mission HQ, search for the same card type, and ADD it to our deck. Then you can re-print the card and start the process again!
