Printing Out A Played Card & Whether The Card Needs To Be Printed To Be Confirmed
Is there a way to print out a Mission card after the mission has already been played and recorded? I forgot to print out some Missions.
Also, do we have to physically hand over the card or email it, in order for a Mission to be considered complete?
Please help!
Thanks,
AuroraD

Inappropriate?Hi Aurora,
There are currently two ways to play a mission: by giving a card (real or printed) or by playing it through email.
1. Physically play the mission card to a person while completing a mission
In this case, you give the card or printed version of the card while playing the mission. That mission is complete. The receiver of the mission card can then confirm the mission. Afterwards, the receiver can play it forward by using the mission card and giving it to someone else.
2. You can also play a mission virtually by clicking on "I've played this mission".
In this case, you would play out the mission (for example Invite Someone For Coffee), and afterwards log into Akoha and click on "I've played this mission". You'll be asked to fill in details. Once you've entered the email of the person you've played with, this person will receive an email with which they can confirm the mission. Afterwards, they can sign up and print the mission themselves in order to play it forward.
So to answer your first question: you do not need to print out a mission. Currently, the system does not allow you to print a mission after you've played it, but the receiver of the mission can print it out once they've logged in, in order to play it themselves.
To answer your second question, we encourage you to hand over the card (real or printed) because it's fun. However, you can also play it virtually by clicking on "I've played this mission" and entering the receiving person's email. This will automatically send them a confirmation link, and they will be able to confirm that the mission was played.
We are in the process of improving the flow of play, so I'm glad you asked this question. Let me know if I've answered your question, and feel free to reach out. Feedback is always welcome :)
Cheers!

Inappropriate?Hi Alain,
That explains alot. Thanks!
Oh I wanted to mention an alternative I did for a couple of Missions.
I saved a file of the Mission card and then emailed the PDF version of the card to the person I played the Mission with. The way I saved the cards as PDFs was by "printing" them to my Adobe Reader app.
What's handy about saving the Mission cards as files is that they can be printed out when I have time, and it's also handy in case I have a printer jam or if my printer happens to run out of ink when I'm printing. Also, I can print out a copy of the cards for myself, to say, put into a scrapbook of all the Missions I've completed, with pics of the people I played with.
So then, if I understand correctly, if I enter the email address of someone who is not part of Akoha yet, they will receive an email notification? That's great!
I do think it's super fun to give out the physical cards. They're neat and compact and cute.
One thing I was thinking about though was about how everyone is so concerned about the H1N1 virus and limiting contact with people. It's nice to know that if people who have that concern still want to play Akoha., they don't have to physically pass on the card.
I thought about this weekend as I happened to be sick and stuck at home. Playing Akoha was a fun way to distract myself while I was housebound.
Thanks!
Aurora
I’m thankful
