I have ordered a Xbox 360 from amazon.co.uk (7,6KG) but they dont ship products like digital cameras to other countries (Portugal included) for some reason... :|

Inappropriate?It's about time. Portuguese market represents a humongous gateway into european market. French amazon is faulty and for some reason, French people don't use amazon very much...
Portuguese people alone would buy a lot from an hypothetical amazon.pt, they already buy a lot from amazon.com and .uk, plus, with the Spanish market and the Italian market it would be a very good business idea.

Inappropriate?It would be kind of pointless to have a Portugal-oriented amazon at this time since they have already started shipping most of their products here (which wasn't the case 9 months ago).

Inappropriate?Why does no one from the Amazon ownership / management respond to ideas such as this ?
EG there may be some technical reason why not ? Or an issue of the size of the market : it is all very well to say the world population of Portuguese speakers is large but most of them are in Brazil. If amazon.co.uk shipped at reasonable costs to Portugal / Mozambique etc. that would probably do the job.
It would be interesting / useful to know the thinking behind why amazon sets up in some countries and not others.
Presumably taxation and reliability of postal service are factors.
