Are there any plans to open an Australian Amazon?
I have purchased items from the US amazon store before, but shipping to Australia is such a pain with all the costs and customs fees involved. So, I was wondering, why not open an Australian Amazon store? It'd be a smash hit in Australia, you'd get so much more revenue!

Inappropriate?I travel from Oz to the UK at least once per year so tend to order up a bunch of books before I go and get them delivered to a friend's place, and I bring them home with me. Hardly ideal I grant you. But it does encourage me to leave the house and go to a real bookshop though.

Inappropriate?I wish there was an Amazon Australia as well but I guess the market is too small for Amazon to be interested. Having a relatively small population spread across a big landmass doesn't help.
