Frozen on page- nothing changes it

My kindle suddenly froze on a page. NOTHING worked: I could not go forward a page, back a page, access the menu or turn it off. I made sure everything was off on the back of the device, but it remained frozen on the page. I tried recharging it, to no avail. It is frozen on the last page I was reading.
