Trouble with re-furbished kindle freezing?

Has anyone had trouble with a re-furbished kindle? My kindle 1 was having major problems that Amazon couldn't figure out before the warranty expired. Amazon graciously sent me a re-furbished kindle 1 to replace it. After 4 days of use, the refurbished kindle froze and I had to reset it. When I called kindle support I was stunned by the lack of interest or support when I spoke with two people (including someone from the leadership team). I'm very concerned about this refurbished kindle as it only comes with a 90 day warranty.
