First verify that your iPod supports the games you have bought. Not all iPod can install games and they are also iPod specific. They can be either games for the iPod 5th generation, iPod nano games or iPod touch/iPhone games. I assume you've bought the right games but it's worth mentioning the differences.
Next you want to make sure that game syncing is turned on. Click your iPod in the source list on the left hand side of the iTunes window. Click the games tab and make sure that sync games is checked. Here you can also check specific games to sync or set it to all games.
That's all I can think to try, besides a full restore of your iPod, as long as you have a backup of everything on it.

Inappropriate? As MarkReid mentioned above, have you ensure that the games and applications in your library are supported by your iPod? Next, have you ensured that application (or game) syncing has been enabled for your iPod?
-
im pretty sure they ar for this version, but then again when i plug my ipod into the comp and itunes comes up, it sais there is an itunes update, could that be it? -
Inappropriate? If you have an ipod nano, an ipod fifth generation or higher those ipods will not support aps or games from the "iTunes App Store". The only "ipods" that support games and apps from the app store are both generations of the iPod Touch. As for the ipod nano's, ipod fifth gen or higher you can buy apps for those ipods by going to the iTunes store and clicking on "iPod Games".
-
Inappropriate?that's doesn't help at all. it's a pretty big bug from the firmware i guess, i've tried everything and im not the only one.
no more apps or games sync anymore on my ipod touch 2nd gen. the only way to make them sync from itunes to the ipod is to do a full restore and loos all my config... that's bad...
even if i delete the apps from the itune library, resync the ipod so the apps is unistalled, i download the apps directly with the ipod touch and it does nothing... no install, no icon appears in the apps menu, nothing. and then apps store say its already installed !! BUT it's not even in the application menu!!!
that's crazy...
I’m confused

I would definitely take it to your nearest iPod store or PeachMac. They should be able to tell you whats wrong.
Although most customer service sucks, you could also try calling your customer service representative to ask about your problem. -
Sync Podcasts. That worked for me -

Inappropriate?I finally went to the i-Pod store here by us and they said it is a problem with the hard drive...and totally replaced my i-Pod with a new one! I brought it home, it synced perfectly and now I am a happy owner of one working i-pod! Try that - I was lucky mine was still in warranty as I bought it last year for Christmas. Even though I had purchased it on 12/3/07 for last year';s Christmas present to my hubby, the i-POD store took care of it completely! I was very happy with the service they provided me...so hope you can try that!!!

When your iPod Touch is syncing, check the "Applications" tab to ensure that application syncing is enabled. -

Inappropriate?I have the same problem but my friend seems to think you need the 2.2 update to have aplications. Hope that helps, i'm just going to try it now...

-
No, only the iPhone and iPod Touch can use apps from the App Store. -
Inappropriate? You must buy and download the newest version of the iPod software. Its the 2.2 version that costs $10. This enables you to move the applications you have purchased to your itouch.
I was having the same problem and it was fixed when I downloaded the newest software.
I’m content
-
Inappropriate?hey just download the new 2.2 software...if it is coming up with err 403 then you either need to wait because to many people are trying to download it or go 2 apple.com and find the apple store closet to you..i went to the apple store yesterday and they hooked me up with the new version for free
I’m im your face
-
Inappropriate?Ok so I have the same problem but I don't know my iPod touch generation! So do u think customer service will take care of it? Man I'm afraid it's broken...
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I think the generation is only determined by the speaker set up. I know that if you have external speakers you definetly have the second generation. From what I have heard, the second generation comes with the 2.2 software already on it. If you have first generation, down load the software. If that doesn't work try your iPod store and they should be able to tell you what's going on.
-
Inappropriate?yeah i have the second generation
when mine wasnt working i plugged it into the comp. and i still didnt work
then i left it alone for a little bit longer and it started working again
i have no idea wat was wrong with it and y it randomly started working -
Inappropriate? The best bet is to just leave alone. If it shows any more issues, troubleshoot it but don't try to fix it yourself; if you try to fix it and some other problem appears as a result from your attempt to fix what was wrong, the apple store may tell you it is no longer under their warrenty.
-
Um, how is leaving it alone supposed to help w/the problem? -
I meant leaving alone, as in if you don't know for sure how to fix it, don't risk messing up anything else on it. Let the professionals handle it, because if they mess it up, they have to fix it; if you mess it up, and it's not under warrenty, they won't fix it with out charging you. -
Inappropriate?restore the software on your ipod with the apps on itunes
-
Inappropriate?ahhhh im having same problem
i had about 30+ games and apps on there.
i went to update my ipod but the wire accidently disconnected
jsut as it was backing everything up :|
the screen was just black.
i re-installed the update. but everything was gone.
and now it wont even add my apps again.
where it has my ipod, Applications.
the box saying All applications is ticked.
but i cant tick or untick anything on that page.
its really starting to annoy me.
i even downloaded a newer version update thing.
WASNT THAT. cos it STILL wont sync my fucking apps. -
Inappropriate? For this one, I really don't know what to tell you. I would say restart your ipod but just shutting the whole thing down. You do this by holding the power button on time and the screen button on the bottom until it cuts off. Then let it sit for a few minutes. Cut it back on, and connect it to the computer. See if it will back up again and then reload everything back on your ipod.
If that doesnt work, get on iTunes and click the restart ipod. This will clear out your ipod and restart everything. You will lose everything on it, but all of the files should be on your computer. Let it restart, and then try syncing everything back on it.
If this doesnt help, try calling and troubleshooting it, or taking it to your local PeachMac store. Good luck! -
Inappropriate?my ipod is just not downloading the apps it tells me to connect to itunes but i already am?
-
Inappropriate?my i pod will download the apps but when i click on them to play them or something it will go on it for a second and then kick me back off to my home screen
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?whats wrong with it?
-
delete one (free is obviously best), restart ipod, download one... all better -
Inappropriate?geez mine won't add the apps. either and I'm getting really mad because it has been a month. no matter what i do the apps. won't sync onto my ipod!!
email me if you have a solution pleeaaaaase
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Well, got kinda the same problem here.
In my Synch window everything is fine except for the one with the apps. It's all grey and you can't click anything. The box for Synchronise Apps, and Marked apps are crossed, but still some of the new apps i've got won't get into my iPod touch! I've tried a lot of things, from restart it, to reconnect it and such.
It is a 2nd Gen. and everything else with my iPod and itunes is working perfectly.
All this seems very weird to me.
I’m confused
-
i have that exact same problem right now and im soooooo frustrated... like the apps that arent syncing are in the section where all the apps can be found next to boxes checked off but those two arent off and when i check them off myself they still dont sync! have you solved your problem yet? -

Inappropriate?i am unable to download games from my itunes to my touch - don't see a games icon anywhere... could someone out there help me. I'm so confused!
-
Inappropriate?okay i figured this shit out. at first, plug your ipod in. click on your ipod in iTunes and click the Applications tab up the top. make sure the box "Sync Applications" is ticked, if not, tick it! then on the top menu of iTunes, go to store > Authorize computer. then when the box pops up asking for your AppleID information, type in your ID that you enter everytime you download an app, as well as your password and press okay. once this is done, sync your ipod and it should be working.
this should work? i had heaps of trouble with mine and skitz many time lol so i hope this works? if not, i don't know lol. it worked for me. -
HOLY SHIT CAS - this fixed mine!! You're the F-ing bomb!! -
Thanks, The exact same approach works for the Game tab on iPod Nano 4G; CAS's answer was the magic bullet illustrating the bad user interface provided by Apple. Least Apple can do is put all this info into their help content. Shame on them for a poor menu design and even poorer technical writing -

Inappropriate?I have tried all of the above today even restoring my entire iPod Touch and NOTHING has worked. All of my apps show in iTunes and all of the appropriate boxes are checked but since I purchased the "upgrade" this morning I cannot get my apps to load onto my Touch anymore. I am seriously regretting spending the $9.95 to upgrade. And I'm just irritated that I can't get anything to work.
I’m really frustrated.
-
Hey. did it get fixed? if not, make sure that game syncing is turned on. Click your iPod in the source list on the left hand side of the iTunes window. Click the games tab and make sure that sync games is checked. -
Inappropriate?Oh. I had that problem. Disconnect your device from your computer. Restart your phone/ipod touch. Press the off/on button (Sleep/Wake button) and turn it on again. Once its on, connect it to your computer again and try to sync the apps. Did it work? If it didn't, restart your computer and do a restore. After you restored, try to sync apps again. Does it work now? I hope it did. If it didn't AGAIN haha, then go to the app store on your device and try to install any app from there. Put your password and check if it installs from there. i hope I helped someone. :D
I’m helpful!!!

Inappropriate?Does anyone know whether you can dowload apps onto a first generation iPod Touch? I don't have an apps tab on mine. Can I get one if I download the most recent software?
-
Yes, you can download apps onto a first generation ipod touch. Go to itunes store on the left side of itunes and go to app store. download any free app and when its done downloading, a app tab will come out. I hope I helped -
Inappropriate?i am so mad i purchased the upgrade for my first generation ipod touch and the applications were working up untill a few weeks ago. i woke up one morning and the apps tab was gone off my ipod. in itunes it shows the apps tab but all is greyed out cant check any options. how am i supposed to add more apps! i think this is a ploy from apple to purchase a new upgrade because that was when i started having the issue
-
I think you need to make sure that game syncing is turned on. Click your iPod in the source list on the left hand side of the iTunes window. Click the games tab and make sure that sync games is checked. If it does not work, do a restore. That will probably resolve the problem -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem, when I sync my ipod touch 1st generation i think it doesn't have the applications thing so I can not check sync apps. Do I have to download something or wut?? I am soooooooo mad I have tried everything and nothing has worked!!!!! wut do u suggest??/
I’m am soooo frustrated!!!!!!!
-
Go to itunes store and when you do, go to the apps store. Go to free apps and download ANY FREE APP available. When you do, it will start downloading. Then when you click your ipod touch picture on the left, a applications tab would come out and now you can sync your apps. I hope I helped. -
Inappropriate?mine was fine untill i downloaded the 3.0 patch, paid 9.95 for it ... and then it even deleted some of my apps from my phone... (but it gave me voice memo! oooOOoo)

Inappropriate?Okay I have the ipod nano 4th gen 8gb..... and im ready to through it on a major highway.....
i downloaded games from itunes and then located them in the itunes applications..... i have tried time & time again to add the games to my ipod. i have checked my ipod to see if it is checked to "add all games & selected game" both have been done. i have even tried to save the games in a folder out side of itunes but on my computer, then tried to move the files into my "ipod file" that is located in my computer... nothing seem to be working..... can someone help me????
I’m frustrated
-
Are you sure that the games are compatible with your ipod nano 4th gen 8gb?? If not, you have to look at the requirements of what device its compatible with. Hope I helped. -
Inappropriate?Hey i have the ipod touch and yeh i click the sync button and it doesn't do anything its starting to bug me and sometimes when i click sync it says so you want to delete 107 apps from your ipod touch i was like no! and i just cant get them on please help me too! ! !x
-
i found that if i try to individually add apps. it wants to delete the ones i'm not putting on. if you sync all of them, it shouldn't do that. there is a box above in the apps area, to click and sync all. -
Inappropriate?I have tried all those but it hasn't worked!!!!
Do I have to dowload the upgrade for 3.0????
I do not have the apps tab when I press my ipod

Inappropriate?I've a 16 GB ,1G Ipod touch. I updated the fireware to 3.0 paying $9.95. I downloaded a free game to test it. Now I've applications tab. I did syncing. But the game doesn't show-up on my ipod touch. Can someone help me resolve this?
I’m trying
-
i ended up doing a few things to try and fix it, i'm not sure if it took all of it, or just part of it. i restared the ipod. then in the main screen, you know how you can move your app's and stuff around ? hold your finger on 1 of the app's for like 2 seconds, and they will appear shaking .. that made the apps show up taht weren't before. on a far away page. see if that works. -
Inappropriate?i just got a first generation ipod touch. it doesn't have anywhere for me to add apps. there is no apps tab or anything on the ipod where i can do it. i have no apps. does anyone know how to fix this???
-

Inappropriate?I have the same problem. I do not have an app tab under my iPod touch in the computer. The apps get put into an app tab under my library, not my iPod. When I sync, the apps don't get downloaded into mu iPod. Please help me, I don't know what to do.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem
-
Inappropriate?People have this problem. Restore your ipod touch/ iphone and do it again.
It goes to everyone who has the app problem
I’m too much people need help
-
Inappropriate?Having same problem, apps will not sync..."sync" is checked on the application tab in iTunes, but all choices are shaded and are not clickable. Those that are currently on my iPod have checks next to them, the others do not and I can't click them. This only started after I updated to the newest version of iTunes. Prior to that, everything synced perfectly. Grrrrrr!
I’m ugh! frustrated...
-
Inappropriate?go to settings--> restrictions--> disable all.... disconnect and reconnect your iphone... should work...
applications downloaded from itunes might not be authorized on the computer so go to itunes--> stores tab, authorize computer and then sync your apps and you should be able to check sync applications and arrange everything according to your choice :)

-
Inappropriate?i have an app tab and when i check the games i want and puch apply it syncs mt ipod then after it syncs it it unchecks then and they do not downlaod!!!!!!
I’m frustrated
-
it because the apps are not compatible with your ipod -
Inappropriate?I FIGURED IT OUT!
AFTER DOWNLOADING, IT DOESNT SHOW YOU HOW TO SYNC IT INTO YOU YOUR IPOD TOUCH BUT JUST RIGHT UNDER WHERE IT SAYS ITUNES, JUST AT THE LOWER RIGHT OF YOUR ITUNES SCREEN, IT IS AUTOMATICALLY ON summery CLICK THE NEXT TO IT WHERE IT SAYS applications DEN IT WILL BRING OUT ALL THE APPLICATIONS YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED. EASY , JUST SELECT WHICH YOU WANT TO BE SYNCED/ OR DRAG IT ON THE YOUR ipod DAT APPEARS RIGHT NEXT TO IT AND CLICK APPLY AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT!
i didnt notice it my self initially, just was like wow, ok easy, imma got carry out downlading my games off itunes now. loooool
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate?Well it finally worked for me! Here's what I found out. Apparently I have two different Itunes account logins. When I tried to update the apps through login #1 it gave a message that there were no updates for this account. So I changed to login #2 and on my Ipod Touch which was plugged in by usb, I click "update all" and it goes through the update for 5 apps and I can see the progress bar under each one working. So I guess when I originally downloaded the apps, it was while logged in to account #2.
I’m grateful.
-
Inappropriate?Uh it wont work on my ipod in the app store. it just wont load.............. whaaa
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?FYI I had other issues with my iPod Touch (sound) so I took it into the Apple Store and when I mentioned that after upgrading my software suddenly 1/2 of my apps icons disappeared. She mentioned that she thought it might be some kind of a software problem. They exchanged my iPod since I only bought it 5 mos ago. Anyway, it might be worth taking it in. On my new one ALL of my missing apps are now there with icons.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?does the 3.0 update have anything to do with it coz it just wont download coz of its not compatible on my ipod touch
-
3.0 needs to be downloaded if your Ipod doesn ́t have speakers, I had to download it!
I hope I answered your question!! -

I hope I answered your question!! -
the speakers work and i have the 2nd gen ipod touch, but some applications arent downloading when i try and download/install, it says not compatible, needs 3.0, should i just purchase the 3.1 update? -
Inappropriate? You guys are making little things to BIG things. When i first got my ipod touch, i had no problems what so ever. And I'm not a techie. I figured everything out without the need of wasting time and asking others. just go to the application tab and sync your damn apps. Damn! its not even hard
I’m Angry
-
Inappropriate?Well Rosemary, since the Apple Store GAVE me a new iPod Touch, I'm thinking it isn't just so "simple" in all cases. My problems began when I upgraded to the latest software. The genius told me that it appeared that there was a major software issue with my touch. The apps were on my iPod but I had to search to find them and the icons were missing as soon as I did that upgrade. I didn't have any problems either when I first got mine, it was only when I upgraded that I had problems. So just because you didn't, doesn't mean that others haven't. Geez.
-
I eventually did have problems, but I figured it out. Geez -
Inappropriate?Well that's great for you, the point is that some problems cannot be remedied otherwise I don't think that the Apple Store would have just given me a new touch.
