Which scanner should I buy if I want one with good Mac support?
Scanner software can be quite awful. I'm looking for a scanner with proper drivers, so I can both scan quickly using Image Capture and scan straight into Photoshop Elements. Any suggestions?

Inappropriate? At my college they're using Canon scanners with the Macs, and you can scan it directly into Photoshop. I can check the model number if you like.

Inappropriate?I've had a horrible experience with a Canon LIDE 30. Could not get the drivers to work properly. It wasn't true TWAIN. Rather, there was some kind of daemon running that emulated TWAIN against Photoshop, but not against Image Capture. But it was an old model, perhaps Canon is better now?

Inappropriate? All I know is the one at school worked when I used it. I don't have one at home.

The one the school uses is the 8600F. -
Inappropriate? It's not cheap, but the Fujitsu ScanSnap S500M. It has *very* good ratings, and is a kickass scanner.

Inappropriate? For the record, I went for an Epson Perfection V10 (their cheapest model). Real TWAIN compatibility, so I don't have to rely on Photoshop plugins or crappy vendor-provided scanning software.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?I have recently used (tried to use) the Canon LIDE 60, 80, and 90 with Leopard. The 80 was next to impossible to work. I think it may be an older model. The 60 and 90 worked okay, but I don't like that they have different drivers. In my opinion, Canon has been sloppy with their scanners. I have not used any others and am not in the market for buying my own at the moment.
