How to find information about some place?
For example you had nice article about Gibraltar (I got it from your blog). Now I go to main page and I'm looking for more informations. No idea how to find it.
On map and from search I see only Nick's photos. They are nice but I can get more photos of the place from GoogleMap itself. I was expecting something more like wiki open-source version of reedsonline.com
I know you just started, but it is easy to edit Wikipedia article about Gibraltar, but not yours :(

Inappropriate?OK, now I discovered what there are "Placemarks", and "Points of Interest" but somehow I don't understand the difference (or why you made the distinction).
I switched Placemarks off as they are containing only useless informations (personal images and video), but it looks like users can only create Placemarks. I'm confused.
I would like to add some marina/port I know. I think I should be able to add it as "Points of Interest" with full description.
I like the fact what the article will be saying what I'm the author and articles (or any content) are not anonymous like in Wikipedia. This kind of credit give more chances what I will place another article in the future.
But on the other hand there must be some way for other users to edit existing articles with new information.

Inappropriate?Hi Arek,
Sorry for the confusion between Placemarks and Points of Interest - You are right, it is slightly confusing at first to work out what the difference is.
The idea behind Points of Interest (POI) is to be a little like a placemark, but with a bounding area (as opposed to just a single point position), multiple photos, and a detailed description on the area - As an example, here is a POI of Vlissingen in Holland: http://www.bluemapia.com/wikipoiDetai...
Through our rights management system, we are able nominate particular users who may be willing to contribute more information - For example users who visit regularly, are currently on a voyage etc - We've called this 'Editor' status, and only as an Editor can a user create or edit a POI. Our thinking behind this strategy, is to allow a build up of user-generated placemarks of an area, and once a critical mass has developed, a Bluemapia employee or trusted user will then create a detailed collation of photos and information to create a POI - We're hoping this will retain a level quality in the information.
Of course, on the other hand this strategy can lead to turning users off who may have valid information to contribute immediately (or edit in relation to existing POI's) ... Your key point though is absolutely valid, and we need to work out ways to make your life easier if you are willing to contribute - We've opened up the discussion on our end to work out a way we can make this whole process better -
We would however really like for you to post any content you're willing to, and if you're interested, we could also give you Editor status so you can create Points of Interest - As you know, we're in early stages, so contributions are heartily encouraged!
Thanks so much for your input,
Nick -
Inappropriate?Arek, I forgot to mention - In regards to finding things more easily, the entire search process is being revamped, and we hope to have it up soon in the next Beta - Thanks again, Nick
