"Elsewhere" Facebook link creates bad link, redirects to my FB home page.
Most people's Facebook links (the tiny "Elsewhere" icon that links to one's profile) just redirect me to my home page on Facebook, not to their profile. Not all, but most.
This was the case with mine, though I redid it several times.
Possibly an error in creating the URL from the user ID? I have noticed the php links have different format. My actual Facebook URL while viewing my profile is:
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?i...
An example of a brightkite friend's Facebook link that immediately redirects to my homepage:
http://facebook.com/profile.php?id=62...
Obvious differences, but when I add missing format elements to his (www, &ref=profile) it still redirects to my home page. Facebook link is often only way to identify or explore someone trying to friend me.
Nothing we can do from our end, as we just enter the user ID numbers rather than enter the full URL ourselves.
