BrightKite Comments won't change to public
Using brighkite on the pc. My comments will not post in public mode even though I have it selected?

Inappropriate?No. I know those can't be changed. New posts are showing up as private. I have privacy set to public in settings, I made sure I clicked public in the left hand column. I have logged out and in. Cleared cache. Rebooted. Made sure location was public. None of which has made a difference in placing a new post. Very strange.

I think you might have applied some "privacy at this place" settings to your current location or somewhere nearby. That's the only thing that will result in that behavior. I just tested with my account to verify:
Those settings can be found under the "Check in" button on the place pages.
Now that you bring it up, it is pretty confusing that the privacy button doesn't toggle when you check in somewhere that you've made "always private". We can see about fixing that, but the problem should go away altogether once we roll out some of the changes we have in the pipeline.

Inappropriate?Okay I fixed it. There was an old place setting that I deleted. It had a privacy setting of private 100 miles. When I deleted the place mark it keep the security setting active.. You guys probably want to fix that so that when a user deletes a placemark the security settings get reset. Thanks fo the help you guys are great.

Inappropriate?Ah, glad you were able to find it. I agree, we should definitely do something if you delete a placemark with privacy settings attached to it. We'll add that to our queue and look into it as soon as we can.
