Inappropriate?Steve, the ability to edit notes, photos, and checkins is coming very soon. I'm really looking forward to this as well.
-
Any update on this happening? -
No updates yet. We've had some priorities shifted around in recent months, but editing is still near the top of the list. It should be available in some capacity once we knock a couple of these other projects out of the way. -
Inappropriate?I really need this. I have several photos keyed to one wrong location. Is there an updated estimate for when this will launch?
I’m frustrated

Rob, sorry no updates with this yet, our team has been swamped. -
Inappropriate?Hmmm, original question posted 9 months ago with official answer of "coming very soon" - have to wonder what time mechanism they utilize. ;)
With the recent backlog issue with emails, several of my pics wound up being assigned to the wrong location, so this feature would be most appreciated. -
Inappropriate?Another month passes by! Any further update?

Inappropriate?Hi Jardy, basically we had to put this feature on the back burner because it's really hard to do this efficiently on the back end. I apologize for saying that it was "coming soon", but 10 months ago we honestly thought that it would happen.
So what it boils down to is we don't have any immediate plans to allow for location editing, but that certainly doesn't mean it's never going to happen. If there are any developers out there who have ideas on how to make this efficient and scalable, we'd love to hear them. :)

Thanks for the update. Perhaps a little off on a tangent, could the developers look at implementing a setting which users could specify how long they wish to be logged in at a particular location?
If the specified period has elapsed the user is logged out of that location and is in the ether regions.
I would prefer images uploaded to not specify a location than to specify the wrong location.
Thanks to the developers for a great social networking website. -
It's unlikely that we'll do anything like that ourselves, but that's definitely something that can be done through our public API. -
Inappropriate? What I think would make sense is allowing a user to correct a location by doing an internal search on "place" objects created by 1) the user, 2) other nearby users, 3) friends, etc., looking for the same or a similar place name.
If a user notices they checked-in/posted/noted at the wrong place, they would most likely (not always, depending on elapsed time) update their location or post from the correct location, creating the proper "place" object in the backend database.
Simply allow a user to "merge" a poorly chosen place with another existing place, and if no other place exists, allow them to change the coordinates/location of the "placemark" like you can do with Google Maps API.
Of course, in order to prevent abuse, you should allow a maximum amount of edits before locking the "place" for a minimum amount of time. It would also be wise to make sure a timestamp and "this location has been editted by $user" message is added to the place/post for transparency.
