Is there a daily limit for the number of SMS messages I can send to Brightkite? I can't seem to update it anymore.
Is there a daily limit for the number of SMS messages I can send to Brightkite? I can't seem to update it anymore today. After a day's worth of posting, I finally get home and check in with a placemark (@home always private) and I can't seem to get a response from Brightkite. I've tried a handful of other commands, and nothing seems to work. Everything seemed to be working perfectly until I tried to checkin at home. Finally, I just checked in with my computer, but it's quite frustrating. Is there a daily limit of some sort, or am I just in a weird bubble of malfunctioning right now?

Inappropriate?Hi Lesley, about 6 hours after the incident, I was flooded by responses from Brightkite, and indeed, it updated my checkin point (6 hours after I initially sent the first request). My carrier is Alltel. Today, Brightkite has worked perfectly fine. Yesterday it was just weird. Also, during the time that Brightkite refused to respond, I sent and received plenty of text messages from other friends (both Alltel and non-Alltel customers). I hope this helps.

Jed, we received a notice from our SMS aggregator that they had troubles with Alltel for a few hours, which would explain why you were unable to send/receive messages using Brightkite. If you experience any problems in the future, please feel free to message me on Brightkite (username sprouticus) and I will check with our aggregator to see if there are any known issues. -
Inappropriate?Checking in to @home never works for me (Verizon). Other placemarks do, as does the address. Is there something funny about @home?

Hi Jason, checking in at a home placemark should be working, I just tested mine and it went through fine. What happens when you try to check in? Do you get an error or does it just not respond?

No response at all. Everything else works, just not @home.

Can you try a couple of tests for us? On the web try typing home into the Place Search and see if that brings up your placemark. Also try sending @home in the body of an email (subject blank) to your unique xxxx@bkite.com email address found under Account Settings -> Mobile. Thanks!

Both work. Searching drops me directly to the location, and email checkin works...
Cute. Sending texts to my own email doesn't seem to be working at all. Likely a VZW problem. sigh. -
Ok, the messages finally appeared. Mailing @home to myself worked, as did many other @s. All have a space before the @ sign.
