Brighton and Hove Buses beggar belief by putting fares up AGAIN ...

Inappropriate?why dont people for longer season tickets? they save you a fortune and its the way to go, hence why the company pushes the tickets. I was buying a three monthly ticket but ive since transffered to the PLUSBUS scheme where I pay just £1 a day for bus travel across the city. It has saved me an extra £16 a month on top of the savings I was already making with my three monthly saver. Whats a real extortion is the railways I pay £152 a month for a monthly to Goring!!
By the way fuel is purchased by all companies months in advance through contracts, at the moment were going to see increases, however if say by the summer/autumn and we still dont see reductions then its time to start making real noise. -
Inappropriate?Sounds like the PLUSBUS ticket is just like we had in the seventies, anyone remember being able to use the local trains with a bus ticket!
This seems a much broader example but thats down to privatising the rail contracts, so at present we have Southern & B&H in the same Go-Ahead group being able to work this between subsideries.
By the way, its the Government that dictates fares and most of the rolling stock, NOT the companies who have paid to get the short trerm contracts to run train services.
Back to B&H buses,
I had thought the fuel was bought on a fixed rate on an annual contract.
Maybe we can get that clarified.
