i cant login to twitter, says error invalid username/password, but i even checked and checked CAPS

We have pushed out a new release which should have resolved the twitter login issues.

Good to hear. Let us know via this thread if you continue to experience Twitter login issues. Hit F1 in BumpTop and ensure that you're running build 2681 or newer.

It's possible that there were server load issues during the first few hours after our launch.
These problems should have since subsided and you should be able to access this functionality.

Inappropriate?I also cannot log into my twitter account thru the BumpTop icon. I can log in fine through twirl and the web. I tried both my twitter accounts, and I don't have any special characters or spaces in my twitter usernames.

Inappropriate?Glad to see I wasn't the only one. No odd characters in username or password. Isn't Twiter using a new authenication model for 3rd party software now? Shouldn't this app comply with that?

Inappropriate?We're having trouble reproducing this problem inhouse - we simply don't have an account that is affected by this problem.
This is on our list of issues and we'll keep you updated as to a resolution. Again, I apologize for the delay. We should have a BumpTop update in the next week which should hopefully include a fix for this issue.

Inappropriate?Since Twitter has now implemented OAuth, shouldn't the app use this, rather than ask us for our passwords. I hate inputting passwords in 3rd party applications, and I'm sure it's a common concern.

BumpTop automatically checks for updates and will prompt you to install the new version once it's available.
You can also keep an eye on these forums and we'll announce the availability of the update. =) -

Inappropriate?Me too, I have QUADRUPLE check my account and password, it works on the website, and I also use Sxipper for Firefox, so it remembers my passwords, I checked my twitter password and even copy pasted it from there. To be honest I thought someone hacked my account or something. I can't WAIT for this to fixed, I'm new to both twitter and BumpTop and I was looking forward to being able to send tweets from my desktop.

Inappropriate?I recently installed and have version 2738, I see that I need to update but can't find a way to force the update. I'm sitting behind a proxy server and the settings show that bumpTop has taken the IE connection settings, but I am never asked to logon to the proxy server. Is there a way to force bumpTop to perform an update manually?
Note: I can not make changes to the proxy server, I work in a large organisation so that's not going to happen.

Hi Kristen,
Unfortunately, we can't help with Twitter login issues. The original issue in BumpTop that prevented users from logging in was fixed in an update already.
If you can log in to Twitter in a web browser, you should be able to login using the desktop widget in BumpTop. -
Inappropriate?Just downloaded the free version (v. 3038) and still getting this 'invalid login' error, my twitter account is fine. This is the only problem in my installation of BT and once fixed will be perfect!

We're not aware of any issues at this time in the latest build - are you behind a firewall/proxy of any kind? You're able to login thru twitter's website but not through BumpTop?

Inappropriate?It was from home (am now at work) last night (no proxy), was able to use twitter site directly.
First time it logged in, but then failed when I tried an update, second time it failed to log in.
Will try again this evening.
