My desktop gets dusty so should bump top
As an organized but lover of paper clutter on my desk one thing that i didn't notice was dust collecting on desktop icons or photos that haven't been touched for a while.

Inappropriate? It's a nice idea, especially for people with LOTS of icons lol :P though I think if this feature is implemented, a switch should be used so low-end or sub laptops won't be able to handle all that dust.
I’m amused

Inappropriate?I don't like dust on my desk, but I like the idea of older documents gathering dust. Just not sure how you're going to present that graphically, as it seems kind of difficult.
I’m interested.

a white semitransparent film maybe? -
but will it look like dust? -
well, but rendering individual particles of dust may be resource consuming... -
Inappropriate?i think there should be graphical levels for later and the highest level has a scripting engine you can use for anything and a few premade ones while the lowest setting is for like my old laptop ;)

Inappropriate?Good idea. Now people will start marketing Bumptop vacuum widgets, too! XD
I like this idea, it would help me see if I am not touching something on my desktop, and like another person said, its good if you have a LOT of icons.
-
Inappropriate?maybe not dust, but the icons could start to darken and deteriorate, maybe even start to crumble. its a great idea but if its implemented i think it should be optional
-
Maybe not darken, but grey-en in patches, then it's like dust building up and breaking the icon, isn't it.
Double-clicking the remains would have to restore the icon though. -
Inappropriate?kinda cool, maybe it would work in conjunction with the grow with use option
