sticky notes dont show any text, except when editing
Should the sticky notes be displaying the text I enter into the edit box? I just downloaded and installed BumpTop, and am playing around. Currently, I can create sticky notes, but I cannot see what they are until I double click them for editing? I would think that they should be displaying the text I enter - or at least some of the text.

Inappropriate?open up explorer.exe and navigate to your desktop folder, Are there any Sticky Note *.txt files there, Do they contain any text?
-
Inappropriate?Yes. When I open the txt file, the first line is "BUMPTOP_STICKY_NOTE" and the next line is the text that I entered.
One thing did occur to me. I use a font management application to disable fonts that I am not currently using. Is it possible that I have disabled a font that is required by BumpTop? I would think that it would just default to another font, but I figure it is worth checking out.
I’m still working on it.

Inappropriate? This would be a VERY likely cause for this problem. Try to disable the font management or at least search the Bumptop folder for fonts and add them to the whitelist of your app.

Inappropriate?Well, that would have been too easy. I searched through the installation folder, and found no fonts there. So, I looked at all the theme configuration files for any clues. In the two themes I have (the default and one other I downloaded), I found references to Arial, Calibri, Candara, and Tahoma. I tried activating all those, but it still did not work. (I am exiting and restarting BumpTop with each thing I try)
Next, I tried to activate all of my fonts (>3300) and restarted BumpTop. That still did not work. It is still possible that this is a font issue - I have many duplicate fonts - for example, I may have a TrueType for Tahoma, and OpenType for Tahoma, and a PostScript for Tahoma. I dont think this is the case, since I have left the installed system fonts alone, for the most part. If only I could find out exactly what fonts (and versions, TTF, OTF, etc) that BumpTop is looking for, then I could perform a definitive test.
So far, though, nothing has helped. All I see is a graphic for the Sticky Note, but no text until I double click it, or open the source text file for the Sticky.

Inappropriate?I would personally try and uninstalll the font management tool and see if that has an affect on the font rendering.
what OS are you running? -
Inappropriate?I have this problem too, and i do not have any other theme modifications from before (clean windows) and i have not removed any fonts either.. added maybe from my adobe apps...

Inappropriate? In that case, maybe this is not a font issue at all. What version of Windows are you running? I am running Vista Home Premium.
I am guessing that this feature *should* be working, since I have seen other posts that would seem to indicate that other people are seeing the text on their Stickies. Additionally, I do see text on the Stickies in the photos that are posted on Flickr. However, on that same note, I have noticed that a lot of the features displayed in the videos are not present in my installation. I'm not sure what to make of that, except that this is still beta software and a number of bugs probably still exist in the software, and many planned features are not yet implemented.

Inappropriate?Unfortunately, uninstalling my font management tool (Suitcase for Windows) is not an option. I use it extensively in my work and the number of fonts that I have (over 3300) would drag down my system if they were all left active all the time.
I am running Vista Home Premium.

Inappropriate?Same thing here! I've got no font managing software running, All I did was updating to the latest BumpTop version, using the Pro version.
I’m helpless
