Windows 7 says drivers already installed
For my HP Pavillion TX 2610 US tablet computer, your web site says:
Support » Need Updated Video Drivers?
BumpTop reports the following information about your system:
Card: ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics (Prerelease - WDDM 1.1)
Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Current driver version: 8.15.0010.0163 (English)
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7000) (7000.winmain_win7beta.081212-1400)
I downloaded the drivers at the bottom of the page, but the device manager sort of sniffed and said "Those are the drivers I already have installed."
Bump Top still says "unable to initialize 3D hardware acceleration." What's plan B?

Hi there,
Please ensure you follow the instructions exactly on the bottom of the drivers page... you need to say to Windows, "install EXACTLY these drivers". If you let it auto detect and search for drivers, it will, as you say, "sniff at them". =)
Let me know if you're still not able to get things to work. We'll be working to improve the clarity of the instructions on the support pages soon.

Hot #$%!! I now have bump top up and running! One needs to select the lower option: "Let me pick from a list. . ."
This should make my tablet much more fun! Thanks!
Fritz
I’m happy

Inappropriate? When I click "Have Disk" and feed it the path to where I extracted the folders in the first step I receive the following error: "The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device."
-
Inappropriate?Max,
A couple of questions:
1) Which operating ststem? XP? Vista? Which service pack?
2) What type of Display Adapter does the Device Manager say you have?

Inappropriate?windows 7 32-bit build 7077
ati radeon x600
tried installing driver with the vista one from ati's website which didn't work.
then i tried manually installing as the directions said and i received the error above. -
Inappropriate?ATI has Windows 7 drivers, try those.
-
The Windows 7 drivers (9.3 or older) do not have the necessary OpenGL support. We haven't yet tested 9.4. -
I'm running Windows 7 official beta with ATI's 9.4 Win 7 drivers and it works great :) -
Kevin - cool. Good to know - so we should update the drivers we have on our download page. But this driver is NOT working on an X600 card? -
Actually I *thought* I was running the 9.4 Cat's for Windows 7 but CCC says I'm running 9.3... I'm going to re-install and see what happens. Windows 7 drivers don't support the X600 series, they only work with HD 2400 and up.

Update: yeah I updated again and now it reports I'm running Windows 7 beta drivers 9.4 and BumpTop works great :) (I have HD 4850). -
Inappropriate? When I looked up my specific card Windows 7 wasn't available. I just tried installing the windows 7 version for the hell of it and get this error "Driver Install: the specified driver package was not installed for matching devices"
On a windows 7 forum I read some people didn't get the new 9.4 CCC to work but 9.3 version was working fine. Anyone know where i can get my hands on version 9.3 since it doesn't seem to be on ati's site. -
Inappropriate?Ah yeah, the Windows 7 drivers don't support the X600.
No big deal, the Vista ones should work fine.

Your link is bad but i already tried the vista drivers. thanks for the help anyways. I will figure something out. -
Yeah - the Akamai link is ACLed, so you can only access it thru ATI's pages. If the 9.4 drivers are working, I will update the drivers on our support pages shortly so you can grab them there. -
Inappropriate?I have Win 7 RTM (built 7600), my graphic card is Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4650 ... I tried all. (Updating drivers, installing Vista x64 drivers) .. but when i install Vista drivers from have a disk option it says Operation system not compatible... in list there're toom many 4650 drivers. But not mobility driver. There's no Mobility 4650 in that list...
-
Thanks for letting us know. We'll be retesting these drivers and updating the drivers pages in the next few days. -
Sounds good :) -
Inappropriate?Just grabbing a bite to eat now - will look at this this afternoon and will post here again with an update.
-
Thanks a lot. I'm happy to wait :) -
What card are you attempting to use? -
Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4650 -
I have new generation graphic card. Supports Shader 4.1, i can play new games with full details and resolution. But i don't understand, Bumptop says Unable to initialize 3D acceleration. it could be? if could i was unable to use Windows Aero Theme ... -
exactly ... Everythings fine but Bumptop -
We're using OpenGL, not DirectX (which is what Aero uses). You've tried updating to the Windows Update drivers for your card?
I've tested this on a Mobility Radeon HD 3400 and I'm not seeing this problem. -
