Can I change my log in name without changing my rating?
Can I keep my rating if I change my log in name? I would like to change my log in name without having to start completely over. Can anyone help??? Thanks!

You can't change your username and need to register again to get a new one. We need it to remain the same for technical reasons.1 Comment

Ok agreed that its a technical limitation...but u can definitely make the profile name as the display name.And we can change the profile name always .So while u can keep track of user account by user's login name..the user can always change his display name.

Inappropriate?No, the name displayed can never be changed. A simple example why: I am a moderator called "bryan" - let us say I change my display name to trishito83 and you change your to bryan - now people will think you are the moderator called bryan. Or another example, your friends know you as trishito83, then you change your name to ChessMaster - now they see ChessMaster on their friend's list and wonder who you are and why you are on their friend's list. So technically AND socially, we cannot allow name changes.

no you cant change your username.instead you can create another id and tell your friends you are playing in that particular id. you may have your own reasons for change in id, otherwise why you go for a change?Common man do you change your name in either school records or college records?
