Synching issue with Vimeo makes video unusable - codec incompatibility??
I'm having some massive issues with the synching between the two video elements (webcam and screencapture) when uploading to Vimeo, to the point that the posted video is useless.
It has been suggested to me that this is an issue with codec - is this a known issue? are their any solutions? help!

Inappropriate?Hi Leisa,
Can I ask which version of Silverback you are using? Also what output setting are you using?
We had issues with syncing with old versions of Silverback but have been putting in place some changes in the most recent update which seems to have fixed the issue for other users.
Sorry you're having this problem, we'll do all we can to find a solution for you as soon as possible.
Also would you be able to send me a system profile to chris@clearleft.com.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?version is Version 1.1.1 (306)
not sure what you mean by output settings - pls clarify and I wil provide
the file that is outputted runs fine in Quicktime locally, it just falls apart when I upload it to Vimeo, which (apparently) suggests that it is a codec issue.
Vimeo code requirements are: Choose H.264 for the video codec. Choose AAC for the audio codec.
How does that sit with Silverback's codec selection?
Have you tested to see if you can replicate my issue at least?
I’m spending more time on this problem

Inappropriate?ok. I exported the .mov as a .mpeg and uploaded it to Vimeo and it runs fine.
ref: http://vimeo.com/5800817 (mpg version) vs http://vimeo.com/5799130 (mov version straight from Silverback)
it would be very nice to be able to use Vimeo without the extra re-exporting step.

Inappropriate?Hi Leisa,
Silverback uses h.264 and AAC for medium and low quality as it provides the highest compression levels while still retaining image fidelity.
For "best quality" we're using the animation codec which produces extremely high quality images but at the cost of large files sizes.
For "high quality" be use MPEG4 and AAC as this produced the best quality vs compression during our trials.
While we do have the ability to include custom export setting, our research showed that most people didn't understand the setting so ended up creating inferior results to the presets. However if there is demand for fine grain control, we'll consider putting it back in.
I'm unsure which export setting you used for your Vimeo videos, but I'd recommend trying the medium setting. If that works in Quicktime but doesn't play correctly in Vimeo, it sounds like it's a problem may be with the Vimeo engine.
