Set a request limit...
I knew this would happen eventually (and I've thought about trying it myself as a test but never did), but somehow restrict it so someone cannot request the same song several times in a row. This happened tonight, and we heard the same song several times within half an hour of play. I wasn't too bothered, but I'm sure several were annoyed by it. I know there is a 'soft limit' on how much you can request, based on how many points you have, and each request costs 5 of them, but you can easily earn those back within one song by earning several new dares and getting the points back.

Inappropriate?Yeah, there was some internal discussion about this prior to putting up the request functionality. And we decided to err on the side of letting folks moderate themselves, then looking for where they break the experience enough that we have to step in. Rather than pre-supposing all the ways everyone might try. :) We'll clearly have to do something here in the future.

Inappropriate? While it hasn't been absolutely horrible, I've heard the grumblings and am myself getting a little annoyed with the repeating of track requests. No one seems to be doing it maliciously the past week, it's more a case of Player A requests a track, Player B logs in 5 minutes later and requests the same track. Unfortunate coincidence, which can get irritating when it happens repeatedly in the same night. I'd really like to see a timer of some sort myself - Not only limited to one user, but rather globally, such that the above coincidence doesn't happen.

Inappropriate?I was about to post something similar, glad to see others have beaten me to it.
Hopefully this will be less troublesome as more Tracks are released, but for now the amount of requests are, at times, ridiculous. (Perhaps it's just new users from the public release feeling things out a bit?).
I agree on both fronts: it'd be a great idea to implement a system to keep the same song from being played over and over. Whether or not it's something that tells you the Track is already in the request queue, or even more preferably, something that tells you the song's already been played within the last 30 minutes (or hour even?)
I also really liked it when you used to run guest playlists every 3 hours, and during the playlist no user requests could be made. I realize you're now going in a different, daily direction with playlists, but it'd still be nice to have a few hours spread throughout the day where you could hear the new playlist tracks without being interrupted by 27 remixes of Hold On or Underwater.
I'm sure you guys can figure something super creative out. -
Inappropriate?Sorry to keep bugging but....this was a major problem again tonight. I was on for about an hour, all I heard was requests (and several repeats). I was extremely disappointed I didn't get to listen to the play list, I'm a huge Soulwax fan and was stoked to see they did a play list. It was a major letdown because I really wanted to hear it but couldn't due to the volume of requests. With more and more users on at a given time everyone is constantly requesting...so the current system needs some major tweaking.
I’m frustrated.

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?Sorry to hear that this is causing you problems still. We're definitely going to be looking into some way to regulate this better in the future. We'll be using the playlist by Steve from Soulwax all day on Thursday for a couple more weeks, so hopefully you'll be able to check it out still!
