DandyID sidebar widget for Wordpress 2.8 wipes out entire sidebar contents when added!
My DandyID sidebar widget for Wordpress 2.8 wipes out entire sidebar contents when added. I know it's not a problem with the widget per se - when I try to add any widget to my sidebar the "pages", "categories" and "archives" links all disappear and are replaced with the widget just installed, so its a problem with my blog theme.
I was wondering if there was a way I could get a workaround so that I could just obtain the code for the DandyID widget and copy that manually into my sidebar.php, which I have done before for a couple of buttons I put up on the site.
Thanks!

Inappropriate?Hi Hiro,
I wish I could help you with this. I'm not even sure how to provide a "workaround" to include the entire widget code inside of your sidebar.php.
Sorry I cannot be of more help on this.
Best regards, Neil

Inappropriate? This isn't a problem with this plugin, it's how your theme is setup. Your sidebar is setup to display Pages, Categories, and Archives by default only until you add a widget to that sidebar. Then it only displays what you've added. That's not a problem though because you can simply add back those missing features as widgets and order them how you like.

Inappropriate? Thanks Viking, thought it was a problem with how my page was setup, but didn't quite know how to get around the problem. Adding the pages, categories and archives widgets myself is the obvious thing to do...don't know why I didn't think of it...oops.
Thanks for the reply!
I’m happy
