plugin not working on WP2.7 - all content disappears!
the (latest) plugin makes all of the content on my WP2.7 site disappear. It does work when I paste the code into a text widget, but not as its own widget. I tried re-acitvating it, but still bad. Site is www.jacklenk.com

Inappropriate?Hi Jack,
I'm Neil, the plugin author. I would like to help you with this and make it work for you.
I'm unable to reproduce this problem on my test blog:
Blog site ... http://drsarablog.com
WordPress ... 2.7
Theme ... Thesis 1.3.2
DandyID Plugin ... 1.3.0
Are you running the DandyID 1.3.0? (1.2.9 had a small issue that could have caused the problem you reported)
Our plugin requires cURL to be installed on your server. Can you verify that it's installed? If it's not, instructions for installing cURL are at: http://php.net/manual/en/curl.setup.php
I'll do whatever I can to help.
Thanks, Neil -
Inappropriate?Jack,
You mentioned that you were able to get the code working in a text widget.
Can you please provide:
1) The exact code snippet you were able to get working.
2) Where you pasted it (was it in sidebar.php?)
Thanks, Neil -
Inappropriate?Neil - Thanks for your response.
I'm running 1.3.0 on WP 2.7 with the latest Grid Focus theme from
http://5thirtyone.com/grid-focus
It's strange when I activate the widget the page content disappears and gets replaces with the grey background of the menu bar...
I will leave it like that until tomorrow in case you have a chance to take a look.

What DID work was pasting the following code into a generic text widget that I added to the side bar. -
Inappropriate?-- the code didn't copy in the last post. it is just an html script tag
<!--<script type='text/javascript' src='http://www.dandyid.org/beta/publicserviceswidget/user_id/3464'></script>--> -
Inappropriate? Thanks Jack... I'm looking at it now.

Inappropriate?Jack,
After much testing, here's what I observed.
When browsing your site (http://www.jacklenk.com/blog/) with Internet Explorer 6 -- it renders properly.
When browsing with Firefox 3.0.5 and Safari 3.2.1 -- the content disappears.
I think this *might* be a theme problem with Grid Focus.
I submitted a report detailing this on the Grid Focus site (http://5thirtyone.com/grid-focus). Hopefully we'll get a reasonable response back from them.
The plugin seems to work properly across several hundred blogs currently, including 2.6 and 2.7 installations.
I'll post something here as soon as I hear back from Grid Focus.
Thanks, Neil -
Inappropriate? Thanks for your input. I'm okay with using the script tag to call the widget for now... and maybe Grid Focus will make an update in the future.
Seperately, I noticed that the Facebook icon seems a little smaller than the others, rendering the "link" underline unevenly with the others... no biggie, though!
Best,
jack -
Inappropriate? Thanks Jack. I'm going to be looking at this some more today. I'm starting to narrow things down. I do think it's a CSS issue with Grid Focus, but I may be able to work around it somehow.
Thanks so much for your help.
(The Facebook favicon is 14x14px -- the others are 16x16 -- not sure why that is)
Best regards, Neil -
Inappropriate?Hi Jack,
Here's the latest update.
I've identified the problem -- I've been corresponding with Derek, the theme author. We should have a solution in the next few days. Please bear with us.
Thanks, Neil -
Inappropriate?Hi Jack,
We now have an updated version (1.3.8) that fixes this problem. It requires selection of a new option setting "Theme-alignment NEEDS FIX".
If you get a chance, please try it out, and let us know if this works properly for you.

Thank you SO much for your help and patience.
Best regards, Neil
