1.7 - Will it ever work?
I upgraded to 1.7. Now, I get an error: Program Bug Discovered <<***-[NSDateFormatter setFormatterBehavior:]:selector not recognized>>
whenever I do my first lookup.
Of course, no further lookups occur. So far, Delicious has not responded to the problem.
Suggestions? (oh, and the list of choices below, I think it's missing some items)

Unfortunately because Amazon is requiring all data requests to be time stamped as a new security measure, we're encountering some issues with the older operating systems (namely, 10.3). The problem is that the date and time formats that we need in order to use the time stamps (which we have to use in order to work with Amazon at all), just don't exist in OS 10.3. They weren't added until OS 10.4 (Tiger).
That means if you're running OS 10.3, I just don't have a good solution for you. I'd be happy to either refund your money, or to upgrade to Delicious Library 2 for free, but Delicious Library 2 does require OS 10.5 or higher to run.
We'd love to be able to address each and every bug, but unfortunately at some point we have to stop supporting older technologies and embrace the new. Sadly this means we have no choice but to make some people unhappy--but we want to do everything we can to avoid this.
If you're running Mac OS 10.3 and can no longer use Delicious Library, please email me directly at terry {at} delicious-monster {dot} com and I'd be happy to see if we can come to a resolution.

Inappropriate?Terry - Yes,

Inappropriate?10.3.9 on that Mac. I've dedicated my old Mac to running the older apps that I still need. This is not a good time for me to upgrade software(s).

What is the "correct" setting? I have mine set for proper date, time, time zone with automatic updates through time.apple.com and I'm getting an error message as well. Also on 10.3.9. -
Inappropriate?Cheri- it should be with the automatic updates through time.apple.com. However, I've seen this be a little bit glitchy before-- try resetting it to that, and then restarting your computer to ensure the setting "sticks" properly.

Jessie, I'm getting very frustrated now. I've set the time and restarted my computer twice now, and I'm still getting the same error message. The whole program refuses to respond after the error message. I even unloaded and reloaded 1.7, to no avail. I'm on an iBook G4 running OS 10.3.9. Much as I'd like to upgrade, I simply don't have the finances right now. With several thousand books still left to catalog, Delicious Library was supposed to be the answer. But right now I'm about ready to trash the whole thing. -
Inappropriate?Cheri--
I'm sorry, I may have misunderstood what the exact issue you're having is. The others in this thread were getting error messages when trying to look up items. It sounds like you might have a different bug. What exactly is the error message are you getting? Is the program freezing, or completely crashing for you?
-
Jessie, I am having the exact error message that started this thread, <<***-[NSDateFormatter setFormatterBehavior:]:selector not recognized>>. If I try to look up an item with ISBN, I get this message. If I try to look up an item with title or author, the whole thing just shuts down, and I get a box about reporting the crash. Which then goes nowhere. I've even turned off my firewall to try and get around this problem, but to no avail. Up to this point, I was really liking the program. But it seems that this "fix" has just made things worse for those of us unable to join the Snow Leopard world. -
