How can I change a timeline from personal to non-personal?
When I first started using Dipity I didn't realize that the first timeline I make is my personal timeline. I put some effort in building this timeline: http://www.dipity.com/user/takriti/ti..., but now it has 'personal' in the URL and that is undesirable. Can anything be done about it?

Hi tak2, sorry for the confusion. If you'd like, you can make a new timeline, and click the green "add sources" button on the new timeline, and add "feed://www.dipity.com/user/takriti/timeline/personal/rss" in the "Any RSS" field.
Hope this helps!

Inappropriate?Sure, but this means that I have to keep 2 identical timelines, since I cannot delete that earlier one as it is feeding the new one!
-
Inappropriate?if you add it as a source under "add another dipity timeline" then yes any deletes on the source would be deleted on the new timeline. however, read gupta's response very carefully. if you add the source as an rss in the "any rss" field then dipity will not delete any event due to that event being deleted from the source. i just tested this myself and it works perfectly. your rss address is http://www.dipity.com/user/takriti/ti... simply add that as an rss source on your timeline and you can than do whatever you want to your personal timeline.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Thanks darthranma!
One of our developers also pointed out we have an unpublished feature that can help here. If you go to any timeline and add "/copy" to the URL you get your own copy of the timeline. That means going to
http://www.dipity.com/user/takriti/ti... will get you another copy of the timeline, and you can delete the events from the first one.
Hope this helps.
I’m happy to see the community support!

Inappropriate? Thanks darthranma and Gupta for your responses. The copy feature seems very good and it works fine, except that the copied timeline (in this case http://www.dipity.com/user/takriti/ti...) doesn't show up in search results for some reason.
I’m anxious

Inappropriate?Glad this worked out. Your copied timeline should show up in search soon. The search-indexer runs about once an hour.
Thanks!
I’m glad things worked out.
