Inappropriate? The best way to check to see if it's pulling what it should is to visit http://www.friendfeed.com/realtime. Everything you see there should show up in your XMPP window pretty much simultaneously. Is that not the case?
I’m concerned
-
Inappropriate? No it doesn't appear to be doing that. http://www.friendfeed.com/realtime shows everything I would expect, about 30 items or so. However my Jabber client (Digsby, in this case), aswell as the Gtalk popup window in gmail, is only showing 5 items, 2 of which are duplicated.
(see attached images)
I’m amused
-
Inappropriate?Hmm.. it seems to have started picking up new items in the last few minutes, almost like it was catching up ;)
I’m confident
-
Inappropriate? So how does this stand now, Jemimus? Are you catching everything, or still dropping items?
-
Inappropriate? Its been very inconsistent across the day. Pulling in items only occasionally, in spurts of 5 items or so. Once an hour tops.
At least it now pulls in all kinds of items, not just my own posts, which was the problem that this thread described originally.
I also noticed that, at least in Google Talk client, it wasn't creating links out of anything in the post, as it did last night in my Digsby. I will test this further this evening by comparing the two clients. -
Inappropriate?Ok, I just noticed a few things:
1. Gtalk client does indeed not turn username or comment id into a link. Digsby does. Is this underlying HTML that gtalk doesnt seem to be picking up?
2. The moment I post myself, it immediately appears in the stream, even if it had stopped feeding other peoples items.
3. Posting something yourself seems to kick-start the streaming of other people's items again, at least for a while.
So it seems to stop randomly updating the stream, unless you post something yourself, then it continues again for a while. Perhaps some kind of timeout occurring somewhere related to a users session? It would have to be on the front end, something relating to my clients session with your server. That is my guess.
I’m silly

Inappropriate? We've pushed a few fixes that should have improved this, if not solved the problem altogether. How do things look for you now?
-
Inappropriate?Looking good so far. Items have been coming in on their own accord.
One thing though, I just posted something.. it took a long time to respond, then said "posted" but immediately followed by" Error: -1 - User timeout caused connection failure". It did seem to have posted the item though.
I’m confident
-
Inappropriate?Hmm.. it seems to be stuck with me at the moment, its not pulling any updates down.

Inappropriate?I turned the food off and then back on, now its working again
