Inappropriate?Could you please clarify what you mean? (ideally a set of steps to reproduce the problem) Thanks.

Inappropriate?Hi Chris. I just went to the digest, picked an article, clicked on the + icon to save it for later and then clicked on the X icon to hide it and that process worked. Are you doing something different?
-
Inappropriate?Yes, clicking on the X icon works while you're on the saved page, but if you close it and return later, everything you marked as read shows up again, as if you never marked it as read in the first place. Try returning to your saved paged and see if the items you marked are still hidden or not.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hi Chris. Sorry for the confusion: To remove an article from the save for later queue, please click on the + icon to undo the save for later. The x icon marks as read and temporarily hide the article from the list (temporarily because when you restart the browser, it shows up again).
Writing this explanation made me realize that this behavior is un-intuitive. so we will try to rethink the design to something closer to what you intuitively expected. The next 3 weeks are very intense but we will try to look into it right after that. -
Inappropriate?Update: Fixed in patch 1.2.212. Now clicking on X will automatically remove the article from the save for later list before hiding it. You should get patched next time you restart firefox.

Inappropriate? What if I want to SAVE an item so its there for later reference, but I want to mark it as read so it stops showing on my digest?
-
Good point. Will change the behavior of feedly so that when you save an item for later it is removed from the list (similar effect as when you click on the x). Is that want you would prefer? -
Inappropriate?Or just allow some way to see it on the Saved list. I may be "non typical" but I use Feedly a LOT to bookmark useful RSS articles for future reference. Something that may not be important to me now but might be in the future. Especially on subjects that I often write about.
So I tend to skim through the digest looking for articles, I hit save to save them, but I can't X them off the digest or else I lose them.
What you propose would work fine for my useage patterns. But might affect others? Would it be feasible to add a new button? "Save & Remove from Digest" or something? -
Thanks for the clarification. I thought that we had already fixed the bug where clicking on X would NOT remove from the save for later list. Can you please let me know which version of feedly you are running (written at the bottom of the page). If you are running 2.0a, 2.1 or 2.7 or older could you please do me a favor and upgrade to 2.x (http://update.feedly.com/release/feed...) and let us know if the x still undoes the save for later. If you are already running 2.x, then that bug has not been already fixed and we will hunt it down. -
Inappropriate?I think the issue might be getting confused so let me just elaborate to be certain. First off I am running 2.x.091 (build 4524) in FireFox as well as version: 2.x.090 (build 4521) in Chrome. For the purposes of this discussion obviously the behavior should be the same, but since Chrome is Alpha I am doing all this testing in FireFox.
What is happening:
On the Digest page, I see an article I was to save for future reference.
1) I click the Save for Later button and it highlights
2) I click the Mark as read and Hide button and the article is removed form the digest page.
3) I change my view to the Saved page, and look for the article I saved. It is not present.
What I want to happen:
On the Digest page, I see an article I was to save for future reference.
1) I click the Save for Later button and it highlights
2) I click the Mark as read and Hide button and the article is removed form the digest page.
3) I change my view to the Saved page and the article I saved is there for reading.
I have tried toggling the Filter option "Unread Only" both on and off in the Saved page and neither option changes what I see. -
Thanks for the detailed information. I think that I understand what might be happening. If my guess is correct, if you restart firefox, you should be able to see the articles you are saved for later "re-appear". I agree that the experience you want to happen is the right experience. Will open a bug so that we can fix it. -
Inappropriate?I just tested it and you are correct. After restarting FF I now properly see the articles on the Saved page. I so very rarely restart my browser or computer that I never noticed that did it :)

perfect. that confirms that the cause of the bug. Will try to fix it sometimes this week. Thank you very much for all your help.
