Nytimes custom feeds break Feedly?

The New York Times has developed a prototype that lets users create custom feeds from their site: http://prototype.nytimes.com/customFe....

However, in order to get it to load into Feedly, I need to first load it into Google Reader (which works fine), and then sync it onto Feedly. Otherwise I get the "Despite trying really hard, Feedly was not able to load this feed." Is this a Feedly bug? Or just an incompatibility issue?

Here's the full message I get:

Despite trying really hard, Feedly was not able to load this feed

There are multiple reasons this could happen:

* Access to this feed might require a username and password (feedly does not know yet how to access and load authenticated feeds).
* The specified URL does not point to a valid RSS or ATOM feed (in which case you might want to contact the owner of the website you are trying to subscribe to and let them know about the problem).
* You are running into a feedly bug (in which case, please open a ticket and let us know so that we can track this issue down).
