Inappropriate?I have actually deleted F**ck2.0 and gone back to 1.26.
Still have the error.
Deleted and reinstalled 2 at least 2x, and 1.26 2x now ! now further -
Inappropriate? This can be due to incompatible extensions -- start Flock in safe mode (http://www.flock.com/node/61805) and disable extensions.
Have to tried to do anything with your profile recently? There is a chance that you've moved the wrong folder. Locate your profile (http://flock.com/faq/show/64#q_387) and move the BROWSER folder (instead of just your XXXXXXXX.default folder) to your desktop. Flock will notice that you don't have your profile and will create a fresh one for you. -
Inappropriate?Well, I also have the Problem on a Mac OS 10.5.8 I have done exactly what you said, and it still has the copy open error?
Flock would NOT start in safe mode either??
I’m Frustrated

After restarting your Mac, do you get this message the very first time you try to use Flock? This information will be helpful in order to know how to proceed. -
Inappropriate?Yes! And every time I try. I downloaded the Aussi version 2.0.3 and it too does the same thing. I deleted Sophos anti-virus and still no change. Them, I started the system with the shift key down (safe mode) and it still happened? I just got the new upgrade OSX 10.5.8 prior to this happening...is that the issue? Would Apple be trying to promote Safari by closing down Flock? I am pretty versed on the Mac and I even started from a second drive and it still would do the same thing?

Inappropriate?I did some testing. I Have several back-up USB hard drives. I started on Mac OSX10.4.11 and the new flock version opened fine. I then copied an older version of Flock to my base hard drive...it is version 1.2.6
I restarted on the base hard drive with system 10.5.8. Guess what? Neither the new Flock Version or the 1.2.6 would open and always say "there is already a copy open." Seems this is an issue with the new version 10.5.8 Operating system from apple?
I’m angry at Apple

Inappropriate?George,
Flock and Firefox both store files in two places -- the main application in one place, and your profile (settings, favorites, etc) in a different location. I strongly suspect this is an issue with your profile folder. Uninstalling and installing a different language version is only going to replace the main application, explaining why you're continuing to see the issue.
It sounds like Flock cannot access your profile correctly. Let's find it and get Flock to reset your profile.
On the Mac, Flock stores your profile in the following location: MacintoshHD>Library MacintoshHD>Users>[username]>Library>Application Support>Flock (other locations here)
I am guessing that you will be able to find this folder, and there will be a "Profiles" folder within it, but Profiles will not contain any folders. There is a file which tells Flock which profile to use, and Flock can see the file, tries to get to the specific profile folder, but cannot. This causes the "browser is already running" message.
If you do not use an online bookmarks service like Delicious, and want to save your bookmarks, you will need to find a folder called "bookmarkbackups". Then follow the steps on http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookma... in the "Restoring bookmarks in Firefox 3" section. For now, you will want to find and save a JSON file to your desktop. You can later restore to these favorites and tell Flock to use this file.
With that out of the way, you will need to delete the actual "Flock" folder in Application Support. Restart Flock, and it should create a brand new profile for you.
Any success?
I’m confident

Chris:
I found the problem and not what you said, but it lead me to the answer amd may help many others with a Mac?
You go to the user Library, go to the Flock Folder, then open that Folder. You will see a file called "profiles.ini" That file should be the only file to delete. Then re-install Flock and guess what. It WORKS! So with you help and my Mac experience, we narrowed this issue to resolution. Everyone should own a Mac!!! -
Yes, it's the profiles.ini file that points Flock to the profile. I wasn't aware that just deleting that would be enough for Flock to recreate the profile.
Awesome that you've solved your problem! -
Inappropriate?Problem Solved.
All Mac users take note for this Easy Fix
Now known as the "Geochris Fix!!!"
I’m happy SUCCESS!
