Media Bar unable to search YouTube
Media Bar freezes at Searching YouTube whenever i click on a YouTube subscribed Stream under Media Streams or when ever i try to search YouTube for videos using the Media Bar. It also freezes and will not allow me to subscribe to a Stream when i click the Media Stream button on the address bar and choose a Media Stream from YouTube. Also no new videos for my subscribed Streams show up under Media Streams on the Media Bar. On Favorite Media on about:myworld all of the YouTube videos are out of order. However the default streams for YouTube: Recently Added, Recently Featured, Top Favorites, Top Rated appear to work.

Inappropriate?log163,
- Did you install any extension before you've noticed this issue?
- Does the media bar freeze for *any* YouTube searches done in the media bar, or just for some of them?
Thanks,
Sophie -
Inappropriate?- no i have not installed any extensions in flock for quite some time, however my media bar has been broken since i upgraded to flock 2.0, however at first it just told me there were new video for subscribed streams when there weren't, and jumbled up the videos for subscribed streams when viewing them.
-although if you want i can post a list of my extensions
- the media bar freezes for any YouTube search, the only thing that does not freeze is the streams under YouTube that come with flock, however the HowToFlock stream for YouTube freezes as well. -
Inappropriate?i disabled every extension i had installed and then restarted flock but the media bar still froze when searching YouTube.
i also noticed something odd when i updated flock on my desktop computer, it said that the latest flock version was 2.0.2 but on the about page for flock on my laptop (Toshiba A305 OS: Vista Home Premium 64 bit) it says that the current version is 2.0.3? (the laptop is the one that is broken)
I’m confused

Inappropriate?log163,
Is it possible that you have downloaded Flock 2.0.3 from our website to your laptop?
We have not turned any 2.0.2 to 2.0.3 updates yet, so any of your old versions of Flock would only be automatically updated to 2.0.2. You'd only obtain Flock 2.0.3 by downloading it from our website.
As for the YouTube issue, we still can't reproduce it in our labs, nor on my personal computer. But we'll keep looking into it.
Thanks,
Sophie -
Inappropriate?same problem here... reinstalled Flock 2.0.3, disabled the 3 plugins I have installed: Dictionary Español/España, google toolbar for firefox 3.1.20081127, twitterfox 1.7.2
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Simon Smith,
We still can't reproduce this issue in our office...
If you type in "about:webdetective" in the URL, do you see an entry for youtube such as:
youtube: $Id: youtube.xml 21384 2008-12-11 23:24:10Z justin $

Inappropriate?Sophie,
I see this line:
youtube: $Id: youtube.xml 21384 2008-12-11 23:24:10Z justin $
Simon. -
Inappropriate?mine says the exact same: "youtube: $Id: youtube.xml 21384 2008-12-11 23:24:10Z justin $"
I’m sad

Inappropriate?if you want i can email a copy of any files, if you think it might be usefull

Inappropriate?log163,
Let's try the following before sending me any files:
- close Flock
- go to Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\
- rename the folder called "Flock" (that is your Flock profile; by renaming it, you'll be making a backup of it)
- restart Flock
- perform a YouTube search in the media bar.
Please let us know how it goes!

Inappropriate?after reaming my default profile flock would not start, it kept saying "the process is already running but not responding please close the process or restart your computer" i looked in task manager and there was only a flock process while the window was up, after closing the window mentioned above flock would end as well.
edit: o! i thought you meant the profile in [user name]/AppData/Roaming/Flock/Browser/Profiles; my computer will not let me access C://Documents and Settings
edit: ok after renaming Flock in the roaming folder and relaunching Flock YOUTUBE SEARCHING WORKS!!!!!
I’m confused

Inappropriate?I don't have the specified folder... I only have a "Flock" folder on "c:\Program Files". What else could I do? The problem remains. Help please.

First off, the directory location Sophie refered to is for Windows XP. In Vista/Mac OS X/Linux, your profile folder exists in a different location. See http://flock.com/faq/show/64#q_61799
Windows has the ability to hide folders from you. On Windows XP, the settings folder which Sophie pointed you to is in C:\Documents and Settings\[your username]\, the Application Data folder is hidden. Two ways to access it:
1. Go to Start menu / Run, type in "%appdata%\Flock" without quotes but with percent signs. This works on Windows XP, and may work in Vista as well.
2. In Windows Explorer (where you view files and folders) go to Tools / Folder Options. Go to the View tab. In the Advanced Settings list, change the Hidden Files and Folders section from "Do not show..." to "Show hidden files and folders."
This should help you locate your profile folder.
