iPhone Places tab stopped working today - can't find anything nearby!
I've been using FS for about 2 weeks now, and all of sudden today the Places tab can no longer find me in any location I'm at, over WiFi or EDGE (on 2G iPhone).
All it says is "We can't find anything nearby." I've hit refresh many times, restarted the app, restarted the phone, even deleted the app and installed it again. Nothing helps. All other functions work fine.

Inappropriate?I have had this pop up since last night. I also have a 2G iPhone. The places list won't change after moving to a new location. The maps app updates correctly. The only way to get the places list to update is to search. The search results appear to be sorted by the correct proximity. I am in Portland. -

Search does work, but it won't find my like it is supposed to. Sounds like Bill has the same problem. My maps app (and other apps) are locating me fine, so it's not the location library...
iPhone is jailbroken on T-Mobile if that matters. -

Inappropriate?I had the same problem at lunch today and had to search for the venue to checkin. I tried checking in about 20 mins ago and still got nothing on my "Places" screen.
I'm home now and loaded the app and am now seeing venues again. woohoo!

(the new places screen is designed to get smarter the more you use foursquare - if you were seeing the crash, foursquare doesn't know too much about you yet, so you got plenty of good times ahead of you :) -

Inappropriate?We're having this problem in Memphis. Nobody's been able to check in at any place since early this morning. When you click to check in on the iPhone it won't locate any places at all. #fail
Any way we could get some help on this in Memphis?

Inappropriate?I'm seeing similar problems popping up for other iPhone users, and I'm having the same issue with the BlackBerry beta app; my guess is that something is going on at the server end at the moment.
For the time being, you can use the mobile site as an alternate option:
