(1) cannot connect with IE-Xmarks on old computer (2) is 'IE favorites' imported into Firefox Favorites supposed to be where IE Xmarks Favorites merge with Firefox?
(1) cannot connect with IE-Xmarks on old computer where I'm wanting to add my older IE favorites into the mix of shared IE/Firefox favorites 9separate from the IE folder withing Firefox that appeared at 1st import that I don't believe is new). If I cannot get it to work before reformatting the old PC, is it possible to re-import the IE favorites on the PC into IE & then just sync the Firefox again into Xmarks to get it all? Also, does anyone know another way to get favorites from other browsers like Opera, Safari & K-meleon since Xmarks doesn't have a way yet, and seems most browsers just import from IE/FF vs. export/share to IE/FF?
I keep getting this message:
"snyc. has been cancelled. Xmarks unable to connect to the network. Try again going to 'Tools-xmarks'- & clicking restart setup wizard" but it never works
(2) is 'IE favorites' imported into Firefox Favorites (when you load Firefox/import) supposed to be where IE Xmarks Favorites merge with Firefox when you merge Xmarks between Firefox & IE, or are the normal IE Xmarks supposed to merge with regular Firefox favorites which just happen to have the dediacted folder of imported IE favorites within Firefox? (sounds confusing but important difference)
(3) Can't wait to be able to do Xmarks with Opera Favorites or browsers on my Windows Mobile 6.1 phone..........Don't know WHY they advertise it's ready for Safari PC when it's not.

Inappropriate?Hey,
(1) Are you still seeing that same error? One thing you can try doing is going to the advanced settings dialog and setting the encryption to "None". This might let you connect correctly.
(2) I'm not 100% sure I follow, but Firefox's import feature bookmark is completely separate from Xmarks. I believe that Firefox's import feature creates a new "Imported From IE" folder or something where the bookmarks are added. When you install Xmarks on a new computer (or a new browser) the setup wizard runs and allows you to either (a) download your saved Xmarks bookmarks into your browser, (b) upload the bookmarks in your browser to Xmarks, overwriting what you currently have saved on Xmarks, or (c) merge your current Xmarks bookmarks with the bookmarks you have in the browser. Option (c) will actually your two sets of bookmarks and attempt to join them together if it can.
Hope this helps!
