Compatibility with Firefox v3.1 Beta 1?
When can we expect it? Firefox v3.1 Beta 1 is a huge leap forward for Firefox - it's much, much faster. But I won't use it until I can have my Foxmarks with it!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Inappropriate?I was able to use the latest foxmarks in FF3.1b1. I had to first have 3.0* installed then install foxmarks. Then have the "nightly tester tools" addon installed. Then install FF3.1b1 and when it imports the addons from 3.0, you hit the override compatibility button and it will then allow all your other extensions to be installed into 3.1. I did not notice any issues in the short time I used it, but of course you could run into issues, so make sure you backup important data or bookmarks first!

Nice "fix"! Thanks for the input - now I'm happy :) -
Working for me also. User info: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2b1) Gecko/20091029 Firefox/3.6b1 ID:20091029171059 -
Inappropriate?Since the underlying API for Firefox 3.1 is still in a state of flux, jivetrky's approach is the right one for now--we probably won't have a stable 3.1-compatible version of Foxmarks until the Firefox API has stablized for that release.
Thanks for your interest, though, and definitely let us know if you encounter any problems! -
Inappropriate?Just thought I would add that I've been using FF 3.1b1 with the latest foxmarks and have not yet run into an issue or bug. I also found another extension that allows you to ignore version compatibility. It is called VersionX. Either one should allow you to install foxmarks on the latest firefox beta. (And the latest beta is really nice! it's noticeably faster at rendering pages)

Inappropriate? You can also open about:config, and add a property with the name extensions.checkCompatibility and the value False. That will disable any version checks on extensions.
Of course the usual warnings apply: nothing is guaranteed to work, and you'd better backup your profile first.
That said, Foxmarks 2.5.3 runs very well on Fx 3.1b1, even with JIT enabled. Most other extensions I have tried this way are working too, with a few exceptions such as Google Gears.
