Inappropriate?I've had this same problem ever since I downloaded xmarks - my web pages crash and then it is automatically recovered. Now I went to the USPS site and tried to print out my paid lable - xmarks would crash my page totally and not recover. I tried using my mozilla browser and got the same results with crashing. I gladly uninstalled xmarks and now my IE works fine! Too bad I really wish my xmarks would have worked.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Sorry for the delayed response, but I want to make sure I understand--are we talking about Xmarks for IE, or another browser? We'll need more details on which browser, operating system, and version of Xmarks before we can investigate further.
Thanks! -
THis is for IE8, xmarks the latest version. Right after I updated my xmarks is when all the problems started. I use windows xp home edition. I can't go back and test because I uninstalled smarks because it was causing several crashes every time I got on the web. -
Please help I am having the same problem- I am on a PC, using Firefox's latest version, I never had proplems with Foxmarks, but after I installed xMarks, NOW FIREFOX KEEPS CRASHING- I have re-installed both (3 different times) Firefox and xMarks and I am still hving the proplem. I also re downloaed older versions of Firefox and it still keeps crashing-
What do I do? -
shelly: Your problem is actually different; if you submit a crash report for Firefox, please find the link for the report under about:crashes in Firefox and post the link here so we can look into it further. -
Inappropriate?Hi Eric
I am using Firefox 3.0.9 on XP and the latest version of xmarks (3.0.2) and it crashes whenever i try to use the search box next to the address bar, if i disable Xmarks the problem goes away
Update: I re-enabled Xmarks and then I disabled the "Enable smarter search" and so far It hasn't crashed since i have tried using the search box -
Thanks for the details, Nigel! I've not been able to reproduce this behavior at all--can you post a link to one of your Firefox crash reports using about:config in your Firefox location bar? We'd love to get to the root of that problem.
Thanks! -
Hi Eric
How do I do that, I know how to get to the about.config (here be dragons etc), what precisely am I looking for...
Also have you tested it with Trend Micro PcCillin as when I disabled the trend micro toolbar (part of the package), it hasn't crashed yet, when i have done searches with the "enable smarter search" enabled, the trend micro toolbar highlights suspect urls that are returned in the search so i am thinking there may be a clash -
Hi Eric
Ok the above came out as gibberish here is it in plainer english
I have found that there seems to be a conflict with the "trend micro toolbar"for firefox (part of the Trend micro Internet security Package)
When Xmarks "enable smarter search" is enabled and "trend micro toolbar" is enabled my browser crashes when i do a search using the search box
However
When Xmarks "enable smarter search" is disabled and "trend micro toolbar" is enabled my browser DOESN'T crash when i do a search using the search box
and
When Xmarks "enable smarter search" is enabled and "trend micro toolbar" is disabled my browser also DOESN'T crash when i do a search using the search box
the trend micro toolbar highlights suspect urls that are returned in the search, so i assume it is a clash -
Heres the error file

Inappropriate?Towdesign: Thanks for the extra details; if you try Xmarks again, you might try disabling the "Discovery" features to see if that helps at all. We've not seen any crashes in our extensive testing, so I'm not quite sure what would cause that in IE8, but we'll definitely keep an eye out for it. Thanks again!
