Hi everyone,
Thank you for your patience as we try to resolve this issue. The good news is that we think we might have a solution. However, we can't reproduce the bug on our computers, so we need your help in verifying the fix.
If you've experienced this issue, please help us verify this fix at your earliest convenience. Once you run through the instructions below, please let us know whether this version fixed the problem or not by responding to this thread.
Here's what you can do to help:
1. Make sure that your bookmarks are no longer alphabetically sorted, or please restore bookmarks from a backup.
We need you to make sure you aren't testing with alphabetically sorted bookmarks, otherwise we won't know if we have fixed the problem. If you have since manually re-sorted your bookmarks so they aren't alphabetical, you may skip this step.
Otherwise, please restore your bookmarks to the point before IE messed up their order:
(a) Login to my.foxmarks.com and access the backup and restore feature.
(b) Select the bookmark set to restore. Find one before IE messed up the sort order.
(c) Preview the set to make sure the bookmarks are correctly sorted.
(d) Once you find a set with the correct order, restore the backup.

2. Click here to Download the new version with the fix (v0.9.67).
https://static.foxmarks.com/clients/i...
3. Download the bookmarks that you just restored from a backup.
Install this as you normally would. After the install, click on the Foxmarks icon in your System Tray to access Foxmarks Settings. In the Foxmarks Settings dialog, click on "Advanced". Then click on "Downoad" and confirm by clicking "Ok" to fetch your restored set of bookmarks from the server.

4. Once the download completes, verify that your bookmarks are correctly sorted.
5. Let us know how it went by posting your experience on this thread.
I’m confident we'll find a solution

Inappropriate? This might be due to something strange in your bookmark collection that's confusing IE7--please write to the beta email address with your Foxmarks username so we can look into it further. The email address can be found on the beta page:
http://beta.foxmarks.com/program/ie_a...
Thanks! -
Was it just me, or was that a little out of left field? :) -
Inappropriate?Ok, you are right, responsibilities are all too clear up to now...
But: this bug or incompatiblity caused a scrammbled bookmark order for 6-7 times yesterday, which was kind or annoying ... and the hint to some "strange bookmarks" did not seem to be too convincing to me as 6 People have this issue.
Foxmarks beta is unistalled now anyway buT I can report my issue to the link anyway as my account still exists.
So this time more adequate: Sorry for the flaming and thanks for the help.

Inappropriate?I'm having this problem, too. Version 0.9.65 reordered all of my bookmarks as well. What a drag! This issue needs to be sent to development.
-
Inappropriate? As I mentioned previously, there's nothing we can do to fix the problem without more information regarding the underlying cause. Please write to the email address mentioned above with your Foxmarks username so that we can investigate further.
Thanks for helping us test! -
Inappropriate?I already sent an email with my username to that address earlier today, with respect to another issue. I just resent that username it with an explicit mention of this issue.
-
Inappropriate? This problem is definitely being caused by our IE beta - it has nothing to do with the Firefox version of Foxmarks.
We're working on a solution as I type... -

Yes sorting problem seems kind of solved now - but: I added two links in IE to my firefox bookmarks list after synchronizing in Firefox they do not appear at all in Firefox! But the rest at least keeps its order... ;-) -

Andreas: after adding the links links in IE did you do a synchronize in IE? It can take a while for things to get automatically synced between IE and Firefox. You can do a manual sync in IE then Firefox to make it happen faster. -
Inappropriate?Still Same...
-
Inappropriate?Junyoun Park and Andreas Schmidt: Can you be a little more specific? You hadn't offered input on this thread previously, so I just want to make sure you're experiencing the same problems we're trying to solve.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate? For a while it looked like IE Bookmarks are in the same order as in Firefox. Additions or changes in one or the other were correctly transfered.
But last time I started firefox foxmarks it told me about a sorting error and asked about what it should do (nice enough to be able to cancel any changes in FF).
The I opened IE again and there again: all bookmarks were alphabetically sorted. I cannot tell if this was maybe caused by IE rather than Foxmarks, but it felt like the same error we had before.
Alternatively: is there a possibility that a IE crash like unexspected reset / Shutdown causes this sorting behaviour in IE and foxmarks (beta) just correctly transfers the changes to the server.
No Idea, but the result is too unconvinient to run foxmarks at all if this persists ... even if only occasionally
Andreas
p.s.: Just in case - should I mention that I run Foxmarks added in Iceweasel on a linux debian maschine as well?

Inappropriate?I found, safari version and IE version sync even safari and IE is not working.
Last I followed your suggestion, order of bookmarks was good for a while even I synced manually. I didn't count but some sync ID was still good on my foxmarks web. Then I found out all bookmarks are alphabetically sorted. -
Inappropriate? It appears that with xmarks for ie v1.0.11 the problem is still not solved
I followed the instructions above - yes it is possible to force an override - nothing new there - but it is automatic syncing that reinstates the problem. Are you getting closer to a fix, or should I accept defeat and uninstall now?
I’m frustrated
