Synchronization settings not saved
I have attempted to disable synchronization at shut down, but the setting will always revert. Selecting or deselcting Enable Automatic Synchronization, restarting the browser or not, does not affect this. Firefox 3, version and extensions up to date.

Inappropriate? The "remember password" setting is also not being saved.. This has been a persistent problem ever since the new release of Xmarks, through at least two versions of Firefox. I've posted this same problem as replies to other threads, and the other persistency is that every comment is ignored.
Xmarks used to be great, but now its behavior is so irritating and intrusive during the work day, that I'm ready to disable it until somebody tells me it's been fixed. I have other ways to save and sync bookmarks... Yahoo, for one. I liked the Xmarks functionality better but it's not the end of the world for me to quit using it.
I am now very dissatisfied with Xmarks. SOMEbody please address these issues! If I can be of any help providing more details, please let me know.
I’m FED UP with it!

Inappropriate?Hey FoxCole,
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We've gotten a few reports of this behavior, but have never been able to reproduce it here on our end. What Operating System are you running? I responded to a thread similar to yours a few weeks ago that may be of help. There are two work-arounds that you can try, selecting/deselecting an Xmarks setting and then pressing the "enter" key on your keyboard, or manually editing Xmarks settings in about:config. Directions are listed in this thread:
http://getsatisfaction.com/foxmarks/t...
Also, if you'd like to start fresh, you can create a new Firefox profile, and reinstall Xmarks. Directions for that are here:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/M...
Hope this helps!
Thanks -
Inappropriate?I have that problem too. Deinstalled xmarks several times (deleting entries in prefs.js as well) but xmark is stuck. In the Setup- Assistant, after loggin into my account it only shows a nearly blank screen (except the Xmark- logo on the upper left corner).
The Preference- Windows doesnt react on the Ok- or Cancel button and setting the Pin for password-sync doesnt stop loading.
As it seams this is a foxmark issue and the solution cant be reseting the firefox profiles. Or do you think it would be a reasonable way to reinstall your OS when a third party software doesnt run because of a bug..
But Perhaps knowing how to add pin and password via about:config would help a lot
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hey Adromir,
Have you tried creating a fresh Firefox profile? Directions are here:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/M...
Let me know if that works for you. -
Inappropriate?Hi Nate, perhaps you didnt read my Post or i didnt made myself clear enough. As (as it seams) several Persons report this Problem, it seams to be a Problem with Xmarks. Resetting the Firefoxprofile is not an acceptable Option then.
What would be acceptable, adding the missing strings (if there are any) via about:config or any other way, because somehow the Passwords have to be stored. -
Inappropriate?Hey Adromir,
The symptoms you are describing with the Xmarks UI not responding and setup wizard not loading properly are signs of your Firefox profile being corrupted. As Xmarks is an add-on, we rely completely on Firefox working properly. We've been seeing a lot of profile corruption with upgrades to Firefox 3.5, and that affects the way Xmarks behaves.
We also rely on Firefox's password store utility for your Password Pin, so you won't be able to edit about:config for that. Creating a new profile will lose your bookmark history, and you'll have to reinstall your add-ons, but in the long run it is the best solution for you.
If you'd like to post the last 15 lines of your logfile here, there might be another clue in there that we can take into consideration.
Thanks
