unrecoverable error crash on sync after IE install
I'm just trying now to install XMarks on IE; I had it on Firefox since it was Foxmarks. I've installed it on my laptop and my pc, both browsers. I am now trying to do the sync and continually get this error: Xmarks An unrecoverable Error has occurred within Xmarks and it needs to be restarted. If this problem occurs frequently, please consult Xmarks help at http://www.xmarks.com/help and I check "Send Crash Report To Xmarks" and hit restart Xmarks. The problem repeats over and over. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Inappropriate?Hrm, that's certainly annoying. I haven't heard of anything like that before. What version of Windows and Internet Explorer are you using?

XP and IE 8.0.6... This also occurred when I restarted my pc. The same error popped up. I noticed the "X" in the task bar to the lower right was there and then disappeared when I passed my cursor over it after clicking "exit" on the error. -
Inappropriate?Yeah on restart we automatically try to start Xmarks, so if it's having problems starting you'll see that error on Windows start too. :(
Unfortunately I'm taking off for vacation for a week so I won't be able to dig into the crash report that you sent to us until September 8th or so. But if I don't get back to you, make sure to bug me again. I thought I had fixed all of the crashing bugs, so I definitely wan to figure this out.

Well, it's nice to know I'm dealing with a real person...who takes vacations even. Relax, enjoy....and I'll be patiently waiting on your return. If I don't see any new replies after the 8th give it a day or so I'll "bug you" again. Thanks, Colin. -
I know it's been a while, but I wanted to let you know that I just finished an update to Xmarks for IE. It hasn't been officially released yet but it might fix your crash. You can give it a try here: https://static.xmarks.com/clients/ie/...
