My accountant told me to pay myself a monthly net salary of £825 and NI/Tax of £235.74 working out to be a yearly gross os £11900. Now if I try and set up the payroll the site works it out to a different split. So it says there is no NI to pay and just £125 in tax. How come this is so different from what my accountant told me?

Our staff are all hourly paid and as such their wages vary each month. Is there a way of reflecting this in the payroll?

How do I change my tax code for future payslips?

When I go to set up my director payroll, I get this alert message:

"Other Employment Income
This payroll will be calculated taking into account your Other Employment Income of £7,200.00."

How can I alter this amount to reflect the actual amount I've earnt and/or received from another company this year (so far), so that my company PAYE/NI amounts are adjusted accordingly? I couldn't find it in any of the settings pages or on my 'People' page.

I have had a look at the FAC version for Ltd Co and can see that payslips and payroll is there but I can't seem to see or work out exactly what is done. My company has 4 employees, what can FAC do in terms of calculating tax and NI (employee and employer) each month and producing payslips. Thanks.

I have received a £212.75 PAYE/NICs refund from HMRC for tax year 2007/08. Lucky me! In addition I have a £100 PAYE credit from the online filing of my company return.

HMRC recommend that the best way to obtain this money is to adjust my Tax/NI payments rather than having them send me a cheque. This is fine from a banking point of view, but how do I adjust the values in my 2008/09 Payroll in FreeAgent? Should I just edit a couple of payslips and set the Tax and Employee NI values to zero? Presumably the Employer NI value shouldn't be set to zero?

My accountant provides me with payslips and this month after I had set up my payroll in FAC I compared the slips to FAC.
FAC's calculatiion was higher by about 20p so I checked with the online calculator at http://payecalculator.inlandrevenue.g... and it aggreed with the amounts provided by my accountant. It made no difference if the end of the month was the 30th or the 5th.

So what is the basis of your calculation and why is it slightly higher?
