Report expenses by year/category - a big help with P11D
I know that there have been topics on the issue of FAC generating P11D forms.
However - can I suggest a simpler short term improvement - namely that of offering the option to report/display expenses by category (within a particular tax year of course)?
This is P11D season, of course, and I just had to sit there with a calculator and add up all my mileage entries and hotel costs for the year, becasue FAC doesn't offer me subtotals by expense type.
A full P11D would be great, but maybe you could deliver 60% of the solution for 10% of the effort with some simple reports.

Inappropriate? This is too late for you Charles but it may help others.
If you are paying mileage in accordance with HMRC's Approved Mileage Allowance Payments (AMAPs) [10000 miles @40p then 25p] you don't have to enter mileage claims on a P11D.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Stuart - and FreeAgent only allows you to do that anyway, to keep things simple.
Charles - a 'by-category annual summary' is no officially on our to-do list.
-
Inappropriate?Stuart - true, but in this case my accountant wanted the totals anyway - even if they were not going to appear on the actual P11D.
-
Inappropriate?Charles - I don't know what to say! I have enough trouble trying to get clients to do what is required let alone asking them to do what isn't!
I’m puzzled
-
Inappropriate?A full P11D report would be fantastic. Currently it's not entirely straightforward (as far as I can tell) to extract the figures a P11D requires.
