Recently active topics in Get Satisfaction

I'd like to make it easy for users to find existing threads about known bugs or known issues, so new users visiting the forum are less likely to create new, redundant topics.

For example, Twitter's People Search was disabled 18 days ago. Since then, users have collectively created 48 separate topics to report the same problem: that search doesn't work. They either don't take the trouble to search, or they ignore the suggested topics provided by search.

Whatever the case, the end result is that I have too many redundant topics, which each have to be individually redirected and archived, and which I think we could have avoided completely if the main "Search is Disabled" topic had been pinned to the top of page 1.

And I'd love it if I could pin more than one topic, since I can have several known issues open at the same time.

I would love to see you report on the responsiveness of companies by showing stats about how long it takes for them to respond to customer inquiries and the hours during which they respond.

You could have your own page or blog that shows the best and worst companies - this would create peer pressure for companies to improve their responsiveness.

You could also create widgets for companies to display on their Contact Us web pages to brag about their responsiveness.

It would also be a great PR tool for you. You could use the stats from this to generate countless newspaper and magazine articles, blogs, etc.

There's no easy way for me to tell if a topic has already been redirected if I'm looking at a list-of-topics page. I have to actually click on each topic link and go to each topic page to check if I've already redirected it.

So my question is -- can there be a visual cue of some kind (icon? link?) in list-of-topics pages, so I can easily see which topics have already been redirected?

For example: here's a list-of-topics page (common tag) that currently has 20 topics, all of which talk about the same problem. My intent is to redirect 19 of them to the 1 topic that I've selected to be my "main" or "central" topic.

Unfortunately, I don't remember which ones I've already redirected since this problem has been around for a week or two. I therefore have no recourse but to go through the trouble of opening each topic just to make sure... an activity that is very time-consuming and low-value-add.

If you believe that adding an icon of some kind will unnecessarily clutter up the list-of-topic pages for general users, then would you consider adding this to employee views so that I can at least see it for topics in my company?

I'd really like to move more of our support traffic over to GS. I thought maybe it'd be helpful if I dropped off what we'd like to see to make that happen. We're just one company, but maybe some other web-based product companies will have similar desires.

1. User information - For our support, we generally need the user's header information, to give us more info about their problem than they may know to provide. Examples would be Browser, OS, language, char-set, Flash version, etc.

2. Support Metrics - I'm sure that this is on the radar somewhere, but a way to better see what's happening once users leave our site and jump into our GS pages would be great. Things like the above metrics would be nice of course, but even an area to configure Google Analytics would be great (I know that someone else suggested this in a thread, so forgive the dupe)

3. Polling (nice-to-have) - I'm looking to start polling, and it seems like you guys have the infrastructure in place to whip this together pretty neatly.

4. Single-sign-on - I'm not sure if this is available in some way shape or form (maybe in Help Center?), but it'd be a pretty cool plus. Yes, OpenID is a step in this direction. I don't know the easy answer here.
