"Thumbs up" / "thumbs down" and "note"
Hi there,
I do have a sophisticated feature idea that just came to my mind, while reading some good answers from your "staff" / company folks! :)
The first idea would be to implement a "Thumbs up" (and maybe "Thumbs down") system like in "Yahoo! Answers", as you could show your appreciation and/or "coincident in opinion" with this post(s content) made my someone.
The second idea is a little difficult to describe for me, as I don't know, which is the correct English word. I'd like to have a "note" / "bookmark" functionality, with which I can e.g. save some questions (although I might not have this question (too)!) or articles as a "favorite" / for later reference or inspiration. I think that gets the meaning behind it.
I would compare it to the option of "bookmarking" (?) people and groups in Xing or people on some dating websites, that is the basic functionality I see behind it. It's a way of unobstrusive "saving & collecting" of information without notifying the other person / group and without displaying this "note" / "bookmark" to the public, as it is only for personal reference.

Inappropriate? We do have something similar to the thumb's up. Mood. When you reply, you can set your mood, and we end up with "The mood in here" rating that shows how the room is faring.
Also, you have the ability to "like this idea" -- as in this idea you started. In this way, other people can indicate what they like. For problem and questions, it's a little different. Since we're directing things at specific outcomes -- solving a problem, for example, you can indicate whether you think a reply solves that problem (or answers the question).
We also want to make it possible, like you say, to "keep" or bookmark topics in your dashaboard. These might be topics you want to share with others, refer back to, etc. That kind of bookmarking function would be very useful.
Thanks for that idea!
I’m in a good mood

Inappropriate?Hi Eric,
I can't "mood" (as a verb ;)) your specific answer / comment. I also can't "like" your comment. I can only mark it "this is one of the best points", but (where) do I find an aggregated view of my "this is one of the best points" clicks?
I do know, that you're directing the threads to a specific output, I'm not sure if you fear this might get lost with the implementation of my idea? I don't think so! :)
It's just a additional feature for personal convenience.
I didn't mention it explicitly, but of course, such a aggregated view(ing option) in your "You" drop-down menu (or somewhere else) would be a requirement too.
I personally can't check the "mood" quickly for several threads, can I? Additionally, I think, "it's not all about social" ! Maybe I'm not interested in the opinion or mood of others?! :P I mean, I just might have a contrary opinion!
So the "mood room" or sth. like that might be not valuable for me at all!
Of course your "mood" feature is great and the "room mood" feature is great too! :)
But it's not what I mean. Or else put: It's "not enough"!
Because, as said, it should be possible to build up a personal "storage" "room" (corner ;)) where I can find all my "liked" posts, regardless of whether these were questions / ideas / problems / discussions or single answers / comments!
Of course you could also implement a structuring or even filter functionality, but of course that's only a great dream, if you won't implement the basic functionality.
Concerning public sharing of your "favs" / "likes": That's of course a possibility! :)
But I think, although everything here is about openness, some would prefer to at first save their "favs" privately. Of course you can offer a (standard) public sharing option parallel to the "personal reference corner bookmarking-way"! I even would predict that this would be the only way it'll be accepted by the users of GetSatisfaction.
I’m keen to debate ;-)
