Can I start a topic that is shared between two (or more) companies/products?
I have some ideas that involve two companies getting together (e.g. Get Satisfaction and Wakoopa :). Is it possible for me to start a single topic that appears in *both* products. This way the respective companies can immediately see what the other says (and, I suspect, will encourage them to make contact, even if the result is that the idea won't work).

Inappropriate?Unfortunately, that isn't yet possible. We have talked about moving to a more product-centric model, which would allow you to attach as many companies to a product as is necessary. After all, if you have a problem with your iPhone, the answer could potentially come from half a dozen different companies. But, I don't think that this is doable at this time, sorry to say.

Inappropriate? What a pity. Just for the record I think I was thinking more of attaching multiple products to one question/idea.
But, c'est la vie, I will just have to make multiple suggestions and cross-post like I originally planned.
I’m a bit disappointed

Inappropriate?Hi d@vid, you are right on with this. I can't wait until I can ask a question to Apple and AT&T, or FedEx and Amazon, or my belkin cable and my Toyota Rav4 and so on and so forth. This concept has been designed into Get Satisfaction from the beginning (though of course it's not visible). It's going to be a big undertaking on the development side so it's not going to be developed for sometime.
Can you tell me more about how you'd like to see companies respond to you and interact with each other when this feature is available? What's an ideal scenario?
I’m impressed with d@vid's foresight.

Inappropriate?Hi Leslie,
It's been a real long time since you replied to my query, which has been sitting in my inbox. I wonder if the GS magic machine will help things along anyway? :)
I'll use a real-world example that I know will require lots of communication between the companies.[1] Let's say I had an idea that involved two products, the Wakoopa tracker and the DOSBox emulator. I want to suggest an idea "Wakoopa tracks old programs running on DOSBox emulator!" and have it appear under both products.
I'd like to see the following status messages appear as the discussion progresses:
* 1 of 2 companies has seen the idea
* all 2 companies have seen the idea, 1 company has responded
* all 2 companies are considering the idea, 1 company has responded
* 1 of 2 companies is considering the idea, 1 of 2 companies is working on it, all 2 companies have responded
* all 2 companies are working on it and have responded
* 1 of 2 companies is working on it, 1 of 2 companies has implemented it
* all 2 companies have implemented it
Alternatively:
* Wakoopa has seen the idea, DOSBox Team has not seen the idea
* Wakoopa has seen the idea, DOSBox Team has responded
* Wakoopa and DOSBox Team are considering the idea
* Wakoopa is working on it, DOSBox Team is considering the idea
* Wakoopa and DOSBox Team are working on it
* Wakoopa is working on it, DOSBox Team has implemented it
* Wakoopa and DOSBox Team have implemented it
As you can see in both scenarios I've allowed for three+ mashups as well.
The ideal scenario would obviously also involve the actual discussion between the companies. If it's simply mutual and open, it could all happen right there in GS, otherwise (more likely) I'd expect a curtain to be drawn while they discussed things by email and over the phone, but I at least would be able to see the "considering it" etc status.
This scenario obviously only makes sense when mutual work is required to make something happen. e.g. features need to be added to two pieces of software for them to work together, rather than simply suggesting that Company Y support Product X. The other scenario I hadn't thought of, but saw in your example: if I want to complain that my books have been lost in transit, why not raise the issue with Amazon and FedEx at the same time, and get both companies chiming in and communicating with each other about the problem, rather than passing the buck? Brilliant!
[1] And ignore the feasibility of the idea and the fact that the DOSBox Team don't have a GS page.
I’m long-winded

Wow, this response rocks. I do believe that currently this feature is no where near the actual road map, especially since it opens up some dynamics between companies that GS might not be ready to moderate. Has there ever been a public way to see the discussions between two companies?
