Does GSFN.show() still work for text links?
Is GSFN.show() broken? I've been trying to pop up the widget from a text link and no dice...
I tried stripping out all of my other JavaScript (I'm using jQuery and Google Analytics), and still couldn't get the widget to pop open with onclick="if (GSFN) GSFN.show(); return false" or anything similar.
It looks like SoundCloud was able to do this a while ago but now they've built their own custom launching wrapper...
I'm using feedback-v2.js

Ted seems to be a bit behind the times ;)
We recently updated the API for the feedback widget (you might notice the javascript file points to feedback-v2.js). Basically, now you should use feedback_widget.show() instead of GSFN.show().

Inappropriate?Hi Trevor,
I'll look into this for you. -
Inappropriate?Hi Trevor,
You've got a spelling bug in your object name. You have GSFM it's actually GSFN (for Get SatisFactioN)
Here''s what it should look like.
if (GSFN) GSFN.show(); return false;
Cheers,
-Ted

I fixed his typos in the original typo so that this topic can be found by others. -
Inappropriate?Darn it, good catch. Unfortunately, that was just a spelling mistake in my post here, and I'm still having trouble on the page.
I've set up a temp page on our site... I pulled out all the jQuery, Analytics, and anything else that might be getting in the way. I also loaded the feedback widget JS right before the /body tag. The feedback tab is visible so you can verify that it's actually working.
If it's not too much trouble, would you mind taking a look and letting me know if there's anything you can see that I'm doing wrong, Ted? I'm at a loss...
I’m hopeful we'll figure this out!

Inappropriate?It works!
Thanks Scott, I really appreciate your help.
Sidenote: Maybe it's a good idea to change this topic from "GSFM..." to "GSFN..." to help people who are in a similar situation find this thread more easily.
Thanks so much!
I’m satisfied!

Good point, Trevor. I fixed the typos. -
Fantastic. You guys are awesome. Thanks again! -
Inappropriate?Someone should really go back and relink all of the ones that relate to GSFN.show() and have a redirect link to this. Took me a while to find this and was trying to find out why the SoundCloud example didn't work at all. :)
I’m thankful
