Find out the "how likely it is that you would recommend us" rating?
The feature where users can rate from 1 to 10 how likely it is that they would recommend our product to their friends is great!
Is there anyway for the company to find out this information? I poked around a bit and couldn't find any info.

Inappropriate?Anand: That's our newest feature! We just released it, and I'm putting together a blog post about it right now, so look for more info about this very soon.
-
Inappropriate?Cool! But I don't read the GS blog. Hopefully the feature will be made discoverable, or even better, be available on the GS Product page where the voting currently is. For employees of the company.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Sorry for the delays, Anand. Our blog was out of commission. I've written a blog post, but it hasn't been posted yet. I'll try to address your question there or have one of our team answer here. Possibly both! Thanks for your patience.

Inappropriate?I like the idea and wonder if actual phrases better help clarify. Maybe you are not into doing a whole amazon rating type system but if someone give the company a 7 rating. I am sure the company and other users would want to know what is between that and a 10 rating.
In fact, maybe a follow up question that asks. "In one sentence (or whatever characters you limit it to) what would make this a 10 for you?"
If a developer or company implements this idea a follow up email system could go out to the user when the company provides this feature, the rating would automatically be changed to a 10 and the customer would have a link to change back if they felt it didn't meet their original request
This would provide almost a digg like feedback loop for the company or developer.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Interesting idea.
Though I do kind of like the simplicity of it the rating system. This article indicates that that simple question is the single most important key metric to measure for user satisfaction.

another comment to GS, I'd tweak the colors. They are pretty garish right now but would look great in more pastel versions of the same color. Just sayin' :)

Inappropriate? We briefly considered letting people add more details like you mention. They could provide their own take on the company. But, I wonder if all of the responses would be condensible into such a small space. I bet they'd be all over the map.
We have also thought about a feedback loop like you describe. That's pretty valuable stuff. I guess we need to think about when is the best time to ask people to come back and revisit their rating. Perhaps the best solution is to simply put this recommendation box on the topic page as well -- not just on the company/product home page. We're pretty excited about this feature and hope to expose it in even more places.
I’m feeding back

To have this be like a natural conversation I suggest that an automatic email to the person when their issue is addressed. This the perfect time to provide them a link to their original rating. The automatic email would help drive traffic around the rating and there is no "asking people to come back" Indeed if the automatic shift to a 10 Rating is justified in their eyes there is no need to ask them to "come back and revisit their rating" at all -
Inappropriate?Thanks for the feedback Anand!
Re: colors
I was going for garish with this one. I didn't want this feature to get lost in the sea of pastels that is GSFN. These colors (I feel) can be identified visually as a representation of the data at a glance.
This is totally up for discussion (as is everything at Get Satisfaction.) I'd love some suggested pallets if you have any in mind. http://colourlovers.com is our friend :)
I’m thankful

I don't know abut colors but I love smiley faces. :-). Mood = Silly -
I like using colors, and being this is a place of satisfaction, would that mean a huge pallet? :) -
Inappropriate?Great input, everyone. We will be exposing the rating data in several ways that will be valuable for both end-users and companies. However, it will be a few more weeks before we unveil this feature. Thanks for your patience while we get this right.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?A fully rated answer requires more information. Products Ratings, alone, are a shallow answer - if there are missing clues for reasoning. Choices or feedback are usually wanted. People may need to be aware of certain factors to be able to use a product. Here are some examples of why more information is needed ...
Programs are written for different computers and operating systems. Some may work better on one system and not work on another. The majority of software used to be written for Windows systems. But now we have several Operating Systems and programs that are not OS-interchangeable. (As a newbie, I unknowingly installed a few Linux programs on my Win98 PC, and I've tested alternate programs after reading about a few tweaks.)
Appliance sales vary according to size, shape, color and features. While a small apartment has enough room for a stackable washer and dryer and a half-size dishwasher with perhaps only partial features available, a family with many children may want to know more about features and size, if they're contemplating adding a second dryer into a laundry room.
Specifically, a company I'm with, offers different types and appearances of wiki websites. While the choice may be a preference, levels of access, free and paid services, etc., vary for each package. These variants may attract programmers, but others may shy away from a simple environment or one with to many choices.
Automobiles are definitely a matter of preference. My hubby of 6'1'' cannot sit in or drive a VW Bug or a Dodge Neon comfortably, while my 5'3'' frame would love to save MPGs. Also, while he prefers AM or smooth jazz with the windows down, I enjoy my A/C and the beat of easy rock.
I’m curious

Inappropriate?Hello GS, just wondering if this is close to launching or was dropped or whatever. I saw some nice other improvements to the site so I thought I'd ask.
I'd love to know how people are rating our product. -
Inappropriate? We still have it on our roadmap. We're releasing our company tools in the next two weeks, and after that, I think we'll be working on some basic metrics, one of which will be this number. Not sure when that will be ready, exactly, but we already have this particular rating/metric ready to go, so it is partially done.
